For those who clicked and have no knowledge on this coping mechanism, it's called age regression (agere) or pet regression (petre). Age regression and pet regression is a SFW thing that is never sexual, it doesn't just involve those of age and it also involves all gender identity, sexuality, race, and anyone that just wants to try it for fun. You may of heard of terms called DDLG, DDLB, MDLG, MDLB, Adult Baby, and so on but this isn't like those since those are kink base and only involve those of age.

Age Regression: Age regression is when somebody reverts to a child-like state of mind, often as a coping mechanism for things like PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. Basically age regressors are more at-peace and worry-free whilst in "little space" (A term for when one is in said mindset). These people simply need breaks from the stress of being old and often have a childish personality even outside of regression (Though sometimes it's not as obvious).

Pet Regression: Pet regression is similar to age regression, although you enter the mindset of a animal. For an example, you may enter the mindset of a puppy and you may yip, bark, be super playful, or find comfort in things a puppy would do (cuddling, chewing on things, wearing cute collars, etc.). This is not to be confused with DDLG or petplay, as this term is SFW (safe for work) and used by people that may have trauma.
