As we're eating dinner, I decide to ask Liam some questions about our living situation.
"Soo... care to explain what my job is to do here?" I asked.
"Oh, right I forgot. To tell you the truth, all of our lives fell apart when the band broke up." His face fell. "We all wished that we could have been together longer, but first Zayn was out, and then the rest of us just disbanded."
"I see. I'm deeply sorry about that," I answered, eating some more of the delicious meal Liam cooked.
"It's quite all right, I knew eventually we were going to end, I just didn't know when," he said, smiling. "We all eventually had to grow up."
"Then why did Nick call me all the way over to New York?" I asked. I wondered if it was just for them to remember the pain or not.
"Honestly, I dont have much of a clue. We all have our issues that we need to work out, some more than others, but I guess Nick figured that you of all people could help," he said, with a reassuring smile on his face. "You weren't called just to spite us, don't worry."
I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Then why did you need my help? I hope everything is just fine with you," I said, rubbing my shoulder. I always have neck pain after an airplane flight.
"Oh, me? It isn't all bad, I honestly thought you would most likely ask Harry or something, since he always gets the girls.." he trailed off.
"Really? I thought you had a girlfriend or something?" I asked.
"Nope. Ended right after the group disbanded. She was just after the publicity and the money," he said looking away.
"Aw, what a shame! I bet you're a real catch," I reassured him.
"Thank you so much! You're probably one of the only nice people which recognizes me as a former member. About our whole dilemma about you helping me, we can talk about that over breakfast, after you get some sleep from your flight, since I noticed you have some shoulder pain," he said, getting up to clean up the table from dinner.
"I can do the dishes, it's the least I can do for the delicious meal," I said, quickly getting up and helping him clear the table.
"It's alright, I'll draw you a bath after, so just relax and digest." I giggled at his choice of words.
"What? Is there something funny?" He asked.
"No, it's nothing, don't worry about it, I'm just wierd," I reassured.
"Being wierd adds variety to life," he said, turning on the water and grabbing a sponge.
"No fair! I want to help too! Give me a sponge!" I exclaimed, coming over to the kitchen. Whoa. His kitchen is magnificent! The cabinets and countertops are gorgeous, along with the two-person island in the middle. A small breakfast nook is in the corner of the room. "This kitchen is gorgeous!" I shouted.
"Haha, thanks. Here's a dishcloth, you can dry the dishes if you absolutely have to do something," he said, finally giving into my help.
After we finish doing the dishes, and a couple of minutes of bickering, Liam leaves to draw me a bath. I look around his cozy apartment and take in the lovely home I'll be staying in for who knows how long.
I also wonder - what is it that Liam needs help with? Is it problems with work, family, or maybe even social problems? Liam is a great guy, I feel like my help is a waste of time. Just as I was about to go check on Liam and make sure he hasn't drowned in the tub, he comes out, arms covered in bubbles.
"Your bath is ready?" He reluctantly asked, red from embarassment. I look at him and try to stifle a laugh. Liam goes to the kitchen to wipe off the bubbles, while I head to my room to grab my pajamas.
I head over to the bathroom to the bath Liam drew for me. The water is great- perfect warm temperature. I wonder if he's used to guests?
I finish off my bath and get set for bed. Before I go to sleep, I noticed that Liam has already gone to his room. I knock on his door, and open it a crack.
I see that he's fast asleep, looking content. I whisper goodnight to him, and I head for my own room.
When I get to my room, there's a note on my bed.
Sorry I fell asleep- I'm so tired and full! I'll explain more stuff tomorrow, try to get some sleep. Goodnight love! -Liam
Aw, he's so sweet. I put the note in a drawer next to my bed, and snuggle into the covers.
I wonder what Liam could possibly need my help for?
