"sunghoon!" minlee cried out, exasperation seeping into her voice as she caught sunghoon's wrist. too late. sunghoon had already dipped his finger into the cookie dough and smeared it across his lips.

she placed her hands on her hips mockingly. "we're making the cookies, not eating cookie dough." sunghoon rolled his eyes as he licked the cookie dough from his lips.

"too bad," sunghoon teased, flicking minlee gently on the temple. she scowled and continued dropping dollops of batter onto the oven tray.

sunghoon hummed as he checked his phone quickly. "did you do the homework for tomorrow?" minlee scoffed.

"homework? what's homework? i don't know who that is," minlee retorted quickly.

sunghoon rolled his eyes before sitting down on the counter, his eyes glued to his phone.

minlee raised a brow. "are you going to help or what?" sunghoon ignored her. she stalked up to him and seized his phone. sunghoon turned his head to face her. their eyes met and minlee held his gaze, her eyes sparkling darkly.

sunghoon swallowed, his adam's apple bobbing slightly. "fine," he muttered, setting his phone down and standing up.

"better." minlee set the cookie tray in the oven. "you're such an amazing best friend, hoon," she said sarcastically as sunghoon drifted back towards his phone.

"mm," sunghoon replied absent-mindedly. minlee groaned. "who the fuck are you texting that's so fucking important?" minlee almost yelled.

sunghoon rolled his eyes, annoyed. "am i not allowed to have a life?"

"am i not allowed to spend time with my friend?"

"fine. it was lisa," sunghoon said flatly, crossing his arms over his chest, his eyes challenging minlee. minlee felt a flicker of jealousy in her chest and she bit her lip.

"what?" sunghoon asked, slightly concerned. minlee blinked. "nothing," she mumbled as she set the timer for the cookies.

sunghoon frowned as he watched his best friend collapse onto the couch, her sweatshirt hood pulled up over her forehead. he walked over to minlee and sat down next to her, leaning his head on her shoulder.

"what is this?" she mumbled coldly as she scrolled through tiktok. "i thought we were just friends."

sunghoon's heart gave an unintentional lurch at her words. did she not like him the way he did? did she not think of him when she fell asleep?

"it's platonic," sunghoon said roughly, jerking his head off her shoulder and ruffling his hair to cover his eyes. he blinked hard, salty tears stinging his eyes.

"you okay, hoon?" minlee asked suddenly, sensing she hit a nerve.

"no," sunghoon snapped hotly. "maybe if you cared about my feelings then-" he cut himself off, immediately burying his face into her shoulder again. minlee frowned but lay her head on top of his anyways.

"you sure you're good?" minlee persisted. "i don't know," sunghoon grumbled, annoyed at her obliviousness.

suddenly the oven beeped and minlee leapt up from her spot, rushing to the kitchen. she came back with two cookies and stuffed one into sunghoon's mouth.

sunghoon forgot he was mad at her and gave her a small smile. "i'm sorry," minlee whispered.
