[name] placed her sword down, the metal making a soft 'clang' as it hit the floor. the plant hashira had just finished a 4 hour training session, and she was exhausted.

"do you want some water?"

the girl jumped at the sudden voice, turning around to see aoi stood there, cup of water in hand.

[name] smiled, nodding to her. "thank you, aoi!"

aoi, smiled back. "you've always been nice, [name]. you look out for me and the others a lot, so there's no need to thank me!"

"i can't say that you don't look out for me, aoi. you help me with any wounds from my battles..." the girl muttered.

"well, not many of your wounds are ever bad, are they? they wouldn't be, not unless you were fighting and uppermoon or muzan kibutsuji himself!"

[name] chuckled, gratefully sipping her water, noticing the shoji doors slide open.

"aoi! could you come with me?" the voice of the insect pillar, shinobu kocho, rang throughout the training room.

"oh-, see you later, [name]!" aoi waved before hurrying off to assist shinobu, probably with her medicine.

the plant pillar was left alone, enjoying the peace and quiet. she occasionally glanced at the plants outside, observing the wisteria trees that were scattered around.

though, silence never lasts for long, does it?

"CAW! CAW! [NAME] [L/N], MASTER UBUYASHIKI HAS SUMMED YOU FOR A MEETING!" [name]'s crow, hydrangea, cawed loudly through the window.

"hydrangea, we are near the medical rooms, so please be quiet." nonetheless, [name] quickly got her things together, leaving the half full water on the floor. (oh well. hydrangea will drink it probs☠️)

the woman walked toward where the meetings were held, smoothing down her haori to look presentable.

the flame pillar kyojuro rengoku had beaten her to meeting the master. he grinned at her kindly.

"hello, [name]." his voice was loud, but it brought everyone a sense of comfort, making [name]'s mood brighten almost immediately. kyojuro seemed to have that affect on people, lightening up their moods like a match to a unlit candle.

"hello, rengoku." [name] said, turning to face where her master would be sat soon.

all of the hashira were sat in a neat line, bodies bowed respectively to their master, ubuyashiki.

a unconscious boy was laid out in front of the pillars, a kakushi sat beside him.

"my children..." he started, "this boy was found during shinobu and giyuu's mission. he was protecting his sister."

"his sister?" mitsuri kanroji, the love pillar questioned.

"his sister is a demon," ubuyashiki continued, "he still wanted to protect her, even though she had turned into a wild beast."

'he must really care for his sibling! it's a true happy family!' mitsuri beamed on the inside, her thoughts getting the best of her. 'focus, mitsuri! this is important, OK?'

[name] glanced at the boy, her eyes drifting to his earrings. her eyes widened, (e/c) eyes brightening.

'the hanafuda earrings, the ones that—'

"ah! he's waking up!"

- ꒰ 🪴 ꒱ did you know that [name] was originally meant to be the bird hashira? unfortunately, the author scrapped that idea after a few days.
- ꒰ 🪴 ꒱ [name] also had a pair of hanafuda earrings. they were given to her by her grandmother, but they mysteriously went missing one day...
- ꒰ 🪴 ꒱ hydrangea, [name]'s crow, is named after the first flower the plant pillar ever studied.
- ꒰ 🪴 ꒱ giyuu will bring [name] flower and other plant seeds back at random times from his missions as his thanks for her being kind to him.
