Chapter 2: Tired

When I opened the door, my blood immediately started boiling. I opened the door to see my little sisters crying, and balled up in the corner. Some man was in our house waving a belt around.

I dropped the grocery bags and immediately ran in the way of my sisters.

"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU??? " I screamed in his face.

"BITCH! You better move." He yelled about to swing the belt again.

I caught it in mid-air. "Where the fuck is my mother? "

He snatched the belt from my hand and yelled for my mother.

"LATOYA!?!, girl come on let's go, Im sick of these bad ass kids. "

My mother came out of the bathroom with a cigarette between her fingers. She reeked of drugstore perfume, and she had on a cheap strapless dress from Rainbow and a pair of studded stillettos from Shoe Dept. A damn shame, all that money she gets is wasted on cheap shit.

"Unh-Unh, what the FUCK is going on out here. ?" she asked.

"Them li devils was acting up and fucking with me, so I had to give they ass a little discipline."

"Discipline?!?! " I asked. "You aint they fucking FATHER!"

"You better watch your mouth li bitch! " my mama said as she slapped me.

"Y'all disrespectful ass need some discipline. Charles here is gone be yall new daddy.

"Mhmm--things gonna change round here. " he seconded.

I rolled my eyes in disgust.

"Aight baby, let's go" my mother said to the Charles man.

"Go?, Where are you going? " I asked.
"We going out, don't wait up. Ill be back when I can. And you need to feed them nappy head little bitches. "

They left and I slammed and locked the door. I prayed she didn't come back. We didn't deserve this. I got the girls up and cleaned their faces and got them ready for bed.

"Goodnight babies, Im sorry yall had to experience that. Things are going to change after next month."

"How? " Jade said

"Yeah, Ya-Ya, how?" Lanise also said.

"Well Ive been saving money from my job and Im going to get us a place. That way we can do whatever we want and their will be food and toys and nice clothes. "

"Really ?!" both their faces lit up.

"Yes. I promise. Just wait till school
is out, only got a few more weeks! "

"Okay! "

"Alright, Goodnight."

I closed their door and checked the front door to make sure it was locked and I headed to my room. As I was laying there praying for better days, my phone vibrated. It said Tae with the chocolate bar emoji.

Tae: Hey There Cutie

Me: Hi. How r u?

Tae: Fine as wine, just like you.

Me: Lol well you must be doing real good.

Tae: Yeeaah. So you wanna meet up tomorrow ?

Me: Yeah but I have my little sisters with me.

Tae: Thats fine. We can go to a park.

Me: Ok thats great! How bout noon?

Tae: Sure. Have a goodnight little baby.
