Just friends

Draco's POV

"Draco?" Annabelle says as she walks into my room. She's wearing a black v t-shirt reaching just beneath her mid thigh. I think that's my shirt, what is she doing with my shirt? I'm laying in bed, my shirt unbuttoned all the way down. She walks over to the bed. I'm trying to talk but no words seem to be coming out. She tilts her head and smiles as she gets on top of me. I can't talk but I am enjoying this. "I heard you had an episode at charms today" I opened my mouth to say yes, but it seems as if my vocal cords are cut off. "have you been drinking?" She says then chuckles biting her lip. I open my mouth attempting to form some sort of bloody word but she puts her finger on my lip and whispers "shh" as she leans in and kisses me-

"Oi, have you been listening to anything I've been saying!?" I snap out of it as I look at Theo. "what?" I say confused. "are you still thinking about the dream you had last night?" laughed Theo. "Draco has it for that Annabelle girl!" Theo screams to Blaise through the toilet door. I don't know what that dream was, but it's been eating my brain the whole day. Blaise gets out of the toilet "what?" Blaise looks unamused by what he heard; I am too as a matter of fact. "ignore him, he has no idea what he's saying" and just like that,  intense relief was shining on his face but not on mine for some reason. I had a burning feeling in my gut, I hated the fact that he fancies her. 

Annabelle's POV

I keep thinking about the encounter I had with Harry last week. His scar couldn't stop burning it led to a migraine, after what felt like hours it went away. He stayed in my dorm and we talked about a lot. His family, Dumbledore, the battle. He talked about how he survived the killing curse which was impressive. I saw the spark in his eyes leave when he talked about the death of Dumbledore, his voice cracked, he kept looking down the whole time. Poor boy, He didn't deserve what happened to him. The three Slytherin boys make their way to the common room coming from what I'm guessing is Malfoy's room. "Annabelle!" Blaise exclaims earning  a smile from me. Draco sits on the couch in front of mine. It's been a week of successfully avoiding him.

"So, Annabelle we're having a little party at Draco's, just us, music and drinks" announces Theo. "have fun" "what? you're not coming?" Blaise says "I'm not invited" I look at Draco hinting I want him to invite me, not just let one of his friends tell me. Theo hits Draco on his shoulder signaling him to invite me earning a frustrated sigh followed by a dry "will you come to the party?" "That's a question, not an invite" He rolls his tongue inside his cheek followed by a very frustrated laugh. "I want you to come to the party, Annabelle." "Gladly. Can I bring a friend?" They all turn their heads towards me. " a friend?" questioned Draco "Harry" Blaise and Theo laugh as they start calling Harry names. Malfoy stares at me, thinking of an answer "alright" Theo and Blaise look at him in confusion "did you just say yes?" asked a very shocked Blaise. 

Draco's POV

The only reason I said yes was because I'm putting the past behind me. I wanted to be friends with him since first year and I can't lie, I made horrible mistakes so this is me making amends. "I'll invite him myself" I say and rush out before hearing comments from Blaise and Theo. I walk into the great hall and immediately spot him in the Gryffindor table. I swallow thickly as I walk over to his table, eyes already looking at me, except for his. I clear my throat, he looks up from his book and sees me. "Draco?" he says more surprised than confused. Hermione and Ron give me nasty looks but I ignore them. "Can I talk to you?" He nods and walks with me far from everyone. "I am having a small party at my dorm tonight, at 8. Would you perhaps like to come?" I feel like first year me when I tried becoming friends with him but failed miserably. "Sure" I don't know what I was expecting but I didn't expect him to say yes so fast. "Great, meet me in front of the common room so I can open the door for you" "Certainly" and just like that he walks back to his friends.

As I turn around to walk away, I find Annabelle looking at me from the door. She walks over to me "Didn't expect you to actually do it" "me neither to be fair" She chuckles lightly. "Meet me at the library at 6, we still have that project we need to do" She smiles as she walks away.   

Harry's POV

"He invited you to a party?" asks a shocked Hermione. "mate, are you sure you want to go?" Ron says with a mouthful of food, I smile at the image in front of me. Haven't seen Ron act normal in a while. "yea, I'm sure. What's the worse that could happen?" "They could play a prank on you, Potter you know their not friendly" "Hermione, I'll be okay. I can take care of myself" I really can't. After Ginny left me, I haven't been able to process anything. I guess I'll just see what happens.

*Time skips to 6*

Annabelle's POV

it's 6:00 and I'm in the library waiting for Malfoy. I fiddle with my necklace as I patiently wait. I might as well take out my potion's book and find something to work on. Veritaserum or Amortentia? We have enough time to brew either, it's just the research that has a deadline. I'll have to discuss that with the blonde boy that is nowhere to be found.

6:30 and no sign of Draco. I sigh as I crack my neck, I'll just start without him. He should be here, This is worth 70% of our grade, and to be fair I need it. I can't deal with failing because of how careless he is. I open my notebook and the potions book and start researching.

7:15 I close the book and sigh in exhaustion. I'm tired and pissed. I take my shit and walk out the library to the common room and there he was with Astoria sitting on the couch talking about whatever the fuck they're talking about. "are you fucking kidding me?" I say pissed, they both look at me; Draco confused, Astoria more pissed than confused. "I waited a whole fucking hour for you at the library, where were you!?" I scold. "fuck, I forgot" was all that came out of his mouth. I scoff "you forgot?" he looks down, I nod  "whatever you say, Malfoy" I walk to my dorm and close the door. 

Draco's POV

"what was that about?" asked Astoria "Nothing" no seriously, what the fuck was that about? why didn't I go to the library? why did I stay here with Astoria? "let's go to your dorm, I want your suit to match my dress tonight" whined Astoria. I; still distracted, walk with her to my dorm and she closes the door and locks it. 

"black and green? or black on black?" asked Astoria as she goes through my closet; I'm sitting on the bed looking at her but not really paying attention. The research was worth 70% of our grade, her grade. "Okay, the black on black with your green ring, and I'll wear the black dress with the green necklace" Astoria turns to look at me. "Draco?" that means she won't be coming to the party, which means Harry won't either and Blaise will get pissed at me that Anna's not coming. I find my legs getting up, unlocking the door and leaving Astoria in the dorm picking out shit on her own.

I knock on Anna's door aggressively. "Annabelle, can you open the door?" no response.  I hear her familiar laugh coming from somewhere, I walk closer to the noise and find Blaise and Theo's dorm ajar, I look inside and find her and Blaise talking and laughing. I feel my eyebrows knot in anger as he starts touching her arm, putting her hair behind her ear. I feel the familiar burn I felt in my gut; Jealousy. Why would I be jealous? we're just friends. Just friends.

I'm so sorry this took too long, I had school and tons of other things I had to focus on but I'm back!!
