Kaitlin’s POV

I was walking through the mall holding hands with my five-year-old daughter. I wasn’t afraid to be seen with her. Yes, I had her when I was fourteen, but I was stupid back then. Now that I’m nineteen, I made a promise to not go back to my old ways. My daughter, Nicole was walking by my side when she saw a poster of her favorite band, Emblem3. They had just started their career, and I have to admit, Wes was the cutest person on the planet.

Nikki looked up at me and asked when we would meet them. I kneeled down to her level and told her I would try my best to get tickets to their next concert in New York since I could get tickets to the one in Philly. She had the cutest smile on her face, so I knew I had to get tickets. I couldn’t let her down again. So we went home and I got online.

I waited for a good three hours for tickets to go on sale. As soon as they went on sale, I got two floor seats. I also had to buy a plane ticket, since we lived in Michigan. I also got us a hotel room that would come in handy. This will be Nicole’s first time on a plane, but I’ve had plenty experiences with flying. My dad lives in Huntington Beach and I’m living with my mom in Detroit. I used to fly to Cali to visit my dad every summer, but since Nicole has been born, I haven’t been there in a while.

The concert started in two weeks, but I bought the tickets a week in advance so we could try and avoid the crowd. As a surprise I bought VIP passes so we could meet the boys. If you haven’t noticed, my family is wealthy. My mom is the president of her company. It’s been real helpful considering I’m a single mom. I glanced at the clock and saw that It was six-thirty. I got up from my desk chair and walked into the kitchen where my mom was making dinner.

I asked her where Nicole was and she just shrugged her shoulders. I sighed and started looking for my daughter. I walked into my bedroom and found her hiding under my covers. I slowly approached my bed and sat down in front of it. “Oh where oh where has my Nikki gone”? I heard little giggles from my bed. I stood up as a little head peeked out from underneath the covers. A soft voice spoke, “I’m right here mommy!” I smiled at my little girl and sat down next to her. She crawled over to me and sat on my lap.

I looked down at her, “How would you react if I got tickets to an Emblem3 concert?” Her little green eyes widened, and a smile grew on her face. She wrapped her tiny arms around me, “I love you! You’re the best mommy ever!” I smiled again and I kissed the top of her head, “I love you too pumpkin”. She giggled, “I’m no pumpkin!” I laughed at her then I heard my mom call us for dinner. I picked up Nicole and carried her to the kitchen. When I put her down she ran to my mom. “Gamma! Mommy got E3 tickets!” Grandma Harriet looked down at her and smiled, “That’s great sweetie! Now can you go sit at the table?”

Nicole nodded and walked over to the table and sat in her seat. All three of us enjoyed dinner then went into the living room to watch a movie. It was Nicole’s turn to pick and she chose Charlotte's Web. Once the movie was over I carried Nicole to her bedroom. I kissed her forehead and tucked her in. I went back into the living room and talked to my mom until we couldn’t talk anymore. I walked into my bedroom and got under the covers. I was jut about to fall asleep when my 100 pound golden retriever Buddy jumped on my bed.

He lay down on my right side and curled up. Now, I couldn’t fall asleep. I grabbed my iPod and fell asleep listening to Reason by Emblem3. The next week flew by so quickly. Tomorrow morning was our flight to New York and I still had to pack a few things. I was walking around the house making sure I didn’t forget anything. We were going to stay in NY for a week, so if I forgot anything, it’s not like I can just walk home. Nicole already had her stuff packed, and she was helping me with my stuff. I thanked her and sent her off to play with Buddy. She ran around the house with a smile on her face, it was the cutest thing.
