As you wandered threw the forest nearest to your home, your mind wandered further. You wondered what lay in these woods. You had been here time and time again but you knew that it would take you a millennium to discover all its secrets, and you felt lucky even when you only found one.

You took a path you wouldn't usually take, a path your granny had told you not to take. She told you tales of beasts who would hunt you down and eat your toes- Of course, your mum had always told you that that was hogwash. So you wandered for hours, collecting acorns for stew, and picking orchids.

Soon night fell and your one beautiful daisy green dress was stained brown from the dirt, and you were cold. You tried following the path back home but with everything coated in a deep shade of black-grey, you were utterly lost. You didn't panic though- you had always had a way with nature that was almost mystical. In the small depth of the forest you could see their being cleared was a path- a path you thought would take you home.

After following the path however you stumbled across an opening, and in the opening was a great house. Mother had always told you not to trespass, but the great night sky had seemed so welcoming so you ventured out a little further and rested in the field.

Soon you were awoken by the flowers that sprouted around you. You looked around startled as the cold air gave you the chills. In the far distance near the house you trespassed you could see someone sprinting towards you. You tried to get up to run but by the time you regained full conciseness, the boy had caught up to you. He held a stick up to you and eyed you with intrigue.

(first person POV)

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to trespass!" i cried in fear. "You can put the stick down I'll leave!"

"Who are you?" The boy asked. He looked at me and ny stained dress and raggedy hair.

"My name is Esther, Esther Gracen. I've seem to lost my way..." isniffed. "What's your name..." i asked the older boy.

"...Sirius, Sirius black... I don't recognize you... are you a muggle?" He asked, slowly lowering his stick.

"A what? No, I'm a girl." i told the boy- Sirius. i put your hands on my hips offended that he called me an odd name.

Sirius narrowed his eyes at me, then looked at the patch of flowers that had grown under me in my sleep- now vines had grown up my ankles, hugging my calves. "How old are you Esther ?" He asked with intrigue.

"I'm 10..." I told the boy.

"I wonder if-"

"Sirius! What are you doing over there? Mummy says you need to come back inside!" a young voice called.

"Ok, regulus! Give me a minute!" Sirius said, "you better leave... my parents hate mug- er -trespassers." He told me, putting a hand on my shoulder. "Go that way" he pointed to an area in the woods next to his house that was less dense than the surrounding forest.

I nodded my head. "Ok... thank you."

....

I had no idea what a muggle was until just months later when I had been bombarded with the news that I was a witch. My grandma was apposed to it, saying I was a spawn of evil... but my mum (who did everything as apposed to her controlling mother) thought it was a great opportunity.

....

"Gracen, Esther." One of the professors called. I walked up to the big hat, fear rising over me as I saw everyone's eyes on me. I sat in the chair under the 'sorting hat' looking at the four tables- one of which I would be sorted into. Then I saw his face, Sirius's. i knew it was his, it had been ingrained in my mind like that of a dream.
