Antonio
After what Camila did to me, I was convinced that the woman is far more stubborn than I initially thought. I had rushed to my room to pick up a file to take to the company. First, I was running late, and I had no idea why I slept longer than usual. Secondly, an urgent meeting came up at the company.
But all my plans went down the drain when I found the door to my room locked. The very room I had stepped into just a few minutes ago. Funny enough, I called her on the phone, and she didn't pick up. Three times, in fact. I knew she was doing it on purpose to annoy me.
In the end, I had to call the person who brought the maid Nelly to the house to forward her number. That was how I managed to get out of the room.
As I sat in Camila's office, my legs crossed, I watched her enter with a rather shocking expression. I had expected her to be here before me, considering I arrived after the incident. Her puzzled expression, seeing me here, was exactly what I was aiming for.
"What are you doing here?" She asked
I shifted my gaze briefly to her assistant and instructed him, "Leave us."
"Don't step out, Sam." She said passing him a look.
But I wasn't having that. My voice cut through, sharper this time, as I said, "Leave and lock the door from outside."
Sam's eyes darted back and forth between us, a clear fear in his eyes. A smile crept onto my lips. I didn't need to exert much to make people obey and behave around me.
Sam stammered out an apology, "Sorry Ma'am," before rushing out. The door locked from the outside, ensuring we had some privacy.
Camila moved forward, closing the distance between us. I sat on her couch, and before she could speak, I cut her off. "So, that was the cheap tactic you came up with."
Camila rolled her eyes and retorted, "What are you talking about?"
"Don't get on my nerves. Do you have any idea how much I lost just because of your silliness?" I fired back, my patience wearing thin,
"You lost? The great Antonio lost a deal? How is that possible?" She frowned at my words, her eyes narrowing in a mix of mockery and amusement.
"You didn't answer my calls. You made me late for an important meeting. I couldn't get out of my own room earlier because you locked the door. And now you're playing innocent?"
She got to be kidding me. If I wanted to, I can handle her right at that moment, but I have lost all strength. And I needed to calm down and think what punishment will be fit for her.
She crossed her arms over her chest. "Well... I felt like playing around for a while." I didn't miss the way she rolled her eyes. I swallowed down. Antonio hold yourself back.
"You're impossible sometimes. But let's put that aside for now. The real reason I'm here is to remind you of our agreement. You'll follow my rules, and in return, you can have your freedom. The incident this morning is just a warning. Don't test my patience."
Her eyes met mine and something flashed in them. "I haven't forgotten our agreement. You can't control every aspect of my life. Why would you assign your best friend as my bodyguard?"
"Because that's what I want to do and you have to abide by that rule." I declared sitting up. I have wasted enough time around. The buzz from my phone a reminder of my attention needed at the office.
"You can't-"
"Complete your statement and I promise you-"
She cut me off. "I get it. Go on your way." She uttered turning on her back. I initially didn't plan to do anything or say anything more but the hiss I got from her made me pissed.
