"Go and get her." Jahra's voice was full of anger and fury, and she could see it reflected on his face as she turned to look at him, watching as his personal guard approached. But she could see the hesitance and apprehension in his face. Jahra could too, which was probably why he took it upon himself to reassure his employee.
She could see him adjusting his grip on the small device in his hand moments before she felt the shock spread through her arm again, this one stronger and sharper than before and making her knees buckle under her weight as she let out yet another cry. The guard tried to use his chance, reaching for her and Akira started to believe she'd failed. Just as she worried she would when Ren suggested doing this.
But then, to her surprise, the guard was swept off his feet, a metallic staff swinging through the air around them and then colliding with Jahra's hand. It sent the remote flying to the ground, and seconds later the end of the weapon smashed against it, rendering it useless as Akira looked up at the orange haired woman in surprise.
But she wasn't done yet, with her staff she continued to knock out both Jahra and the guard in two swift moves before finally coming to stand in front of Akira. For a moment, the two remained quiet before the orange haired woman extended her hand to Akira, helping her rise back up to her feet. "Thanks." The brunette said, still in a slight bit of shock over what had just happened as she looked back to Jahra's unconscious body.
But soon she tore her eyes away from them and back to the rest of the fight. Marines lay sprawled throughout the courtyard, and the sight of them made Akira really eager to get away before she was captured again and had to tend to all of them. And the orange haired girl seemed to be in equal amount of rush as she ran over to the other two in the centre of the courtyard.
"Aren't you that drunk from the bar?"
"Glad I made an impression."
"We should probably get going. Before-" Akira tried to remind them that their moment of peace wouldn't last long, but she never even got to finish the words before another familiar voice called out.
"The impostor, the pirate hunter, and the prisoner." Captain Morgan stalked towards them through the courtyard, the group of four standing side by side as they eyes snapped over to him. His own took them all in, sparing a moment longer on Akira and making her wonder what would happen to her. Would he spare her for Jahra. She doubted he cared for her services that much. "Fancy that. The three of you, working together."
"Yeah. We're a crew!" The boy in the straw hat announced proudly, making Akira send the group curious looks. Wasn't Greeny more than ready, at first, to use them as a distraction for their escape? Clearly, they couldn't be that tight knit of a crew.
"Nope, not a crew."
"Not together!"That made more sense.
"Akira, walk away while you have the chance." Morgan spoke in a threatening voice, making the trio surrounding her turn their eyes towards her, clearly curious to see what she'd do.
But she knew better than to accept the offer. Not when she was so close. "I'm good here, thanks."
"No enemy has ever escaped my wrath." The man's anger continued to grow and rise as he tried to frighten them into backing down, boasting about all of his victories and successes. "I alone defeated the Black Cat pirates. I alone captured Kuro of the Thousand Plans. And I alone keep Shells Town safe from the scum of the Easte Blue." But it made none of the four back down, staring right back at the man and ready to fight to get out of here and to safety. To freedom.
