Prologue
I never imagined that our 13-year relationship would just end like this. Many people told us that we just waste our time loving each other and will end up like this, but for me, this relationship made us grow and understand each other.
I remember my best friend asking me, Do you regret your decision to break up with him? "No, I did not regret my decision because I would not be who I am today if we kept that relationship. Yes, its a healthy relationship. He supported my dream and was always there for me, but when he asks about something very important to him, I cannot give it to him. He asks for marriage, but Im not ready to settle down. I want to become a doctor and achieve all my dreams.
We have different dreams, and, sad to say, I decided to break that relationship. I became midnight rain, and he was sunshine, willing to sacrifice all just to be with me. He was willing to wait, but I dont want to waste his time just waiting for me.
And now Im happy watching him smile in front of his bride-to-be. It is sad that after all those years, we will just have separate ways, but on the other side, we achieve each other's dreams but not together anymore. Im a doctor now, and he has his bride.
