it was a day like any other in the small village of Sweet Hill, a little hedgehog named Sunset had just turned 5, he dreamed, locked in his room about all the adventures he could do, he had heard about of a hedgehog, a young man, the same age as him, named Sonic, who would have a super power, to go as fast as light, obviously that any little boy dreams of doing the same, he dreams, slumps on his bed, wondering what it felt like to be in his place.

Sunset was a very dreamy and above all adventurous child, almost nothing could disturb him when he dreamed like this, his eyes staring at the ceiling, he seemed motionless... the only person who could get him out of his immense imagination was the sound of his friend and neighbor Tycy whom he heard calling him for a new adventure. The two often escaped to have adventures in the forest of their village, they both really had a lot of fun.

This time, Tycy climbed over the barrier that separated them and surprised his dreaming friend with his thoughts, he jumped a good bit then realizing that it was only Tycy, he asked him what he was bring here again. Tycy burst out laughing after seeing Sunset fall into her trap.

"-Aw that's not funny, buddy!

-Oh yes it was!

-Er anyway, what bring you here again?

-nothing, just to ask you what you are thinking!'

Sunset smiled at the usual cheerful look of his friend Tycy, he explained his dream to her and Tycy, still smiling, told him that one day, he might even be stronger than him, so Sunset sighed, laughed and left her again talk about her adventures while immersing himself in his own.

All he wanted was not necessarily to surpass him, not necessarily to be stronger, just to experience adventures with him, he imagined being able to go as fast as him, while being as free as him, of a on the other hand he was afraid, if he would never want him?

Sunset also had a power that he never really considered 'cool', at least not as much as Sonic's. The two rings on Sunset's wrist could be taken off and thrown away. Once in the air they expand and open a portal to the direction he wishes.

He always slept, had sweet dreams, and probably hundreds of people died, he had a smile on his face.

His sleep began to become disturbed towards the end of the night, the flames had barely broken through his house, it was only the strange smell that seemed suspicious to him. He woke up, looked slowly out of the window, the flames dancing in the reflection of his large violet eyes. Still tired, he wasn't that surprised, he ran up the stairs, missed every other step as he was close to falling, and ended up on the first floor, in front of his parents' bedroom.

His father was not present but his mother was in bed, he gently approached her tuft of long blue-black hair and shaking it gently, she remained numb, he began to call her, still nothing. His mind finally made him understand what was happening, he panicked but slowly moved away from his mother, once the door closed, he ran to see if Tycy was okay, she was on the porch crying, repeating that she hadn't found her brother.

He, who had never seen his friend cry, dried his own tears, took Tycy gently in his arms and stroked her hair to try to console her.

More or less distorted shadows approached near them so Sunset took Tycy in her arms and ran to hide behind a rock. Sunset throws one of her rings to create a portal. He lifted the little wolf Tycy and asked her to pass through his portal to escape. Sunset turns around, preparing to run away, surprised to still not see Tycy, turns towards her and seeing him attacked by one of her forms, panicked and afraid, he jumps into the ring.

He cried, falling so low, he didn't even know where the direction was but he was in free fall, he thought, his whole village was really dead, his parents? his friend? his friend, his only friend that he could save, no, what did he do, he fled, he let her die like that... that's his fault... in fact, if once down below, death would take him away, it wouldn't be so bad... I closed my eyes and fell asleep, falling heavily towards the ground which would seem so soft...
