We got to see Goofy Virat! We got to see Rohit again almost running Virat out. Haha...

Virat's dismissal was unfortunate but well there is always another day. Even Subham as superb in his short innings as was Rahul.

Disclaimer - This is a fan fiction. A little tribute/my version of what may have happened to lead to or after these events. Other than the general outline of the events (which actually took place) everything else is made up. Some events are taken from interviews etc but the rest remains a head canon of mine. It is probably not what happened (more than probably) and should not be taken as any modicum of truth.

The incident in this fanfic is probably one of the most controversial we have had in recent times. I have just written about my head canon, which is in no manner related to the truth.

There is no intention to hurt or malign anybody. All members of ICT are most respected by me and this is just a fictional point of view. No incident have any resemblance to what actually may have happened.

Summary - It was just after the South Africa wherein Virat had announced his decision to step down from the Test Captaincy. MS had lent his support and had tried to boost up the youngster's morale. Therefore, the 'message' came as a surprise. What was ailing this young protege of Dhoni's? Can the Captain lead the youngster to the right path again? Or will Virat take some drastic decision? How does the team, specially Rohit, Jinks, Hardik Pandya, and, Rahul have to do with this?

MS had loved mornings, even as a kid.

The absolute stillness before all the hubbub began. Some time to spend contemplating yesterday and planning for today.

Having woken up at 5.00 A M as always, MS had taken a moment to appreciate the unusual overview. Virat was huddled at a corner, and had dragged away both blankets. Only his head was visible above the covers. Sometime during the night, Sam had abandoned MS and was now draped over Virat.

The dog lazily opened an eye and wagged his tail but made no movement to follow MS even as he went about dressing up for the day or when he left for his run.

By the time MS returned, the living room was much fuller and even as his eyes roved over the people present, his mind flashed back to the message he had sent yesterday, even before Virat had confessed about being slighted by the team.

To. Rohit

"I want you, Ajinkya, Ravindra, Hardik, Rahul and Jasprit tomorrow at my farmhouse. Non Negotiable."

MS couldn't remember the last time he had sent such a message. There were a few times, while he was still playing for the Indian Cricket Team but not after that. And mostly his summons would be directed to the kids but this time he had essentially demanded the presence of only the seniors.

"Mahi Bhai!" Rohit was first one to notice MS and he moved over, extending his arms for a hug. But MS stopped him. The reaction was so unexpected that Rohit pulled up short, stood blankly, with his hands still partly extended.
