Professor Dumbledore: Uh mh.
The whole room gets quiet as he speaks.
Professor Dumbledore: first and foremost as I'd like to say tonight welcome to the first year. I'd also like to say that this year is one of those years that I've been excited for most and foremost. Number one reason why I'm excited for this year the most is because it is Professor mcgonigles 35th year hero Hogwarts and that is why we are having a celebration in 2 weeks time to celebrate it. Number two this year something big is happening but I am not allowed to tell you what it is until 2 weeks time at the party. Also we are not having classes for a full week here because Professor Hagrid has been gone. We don't know when he left I think it was like right after he took the first years here because I had sent him on a mission but he had to do the first year meeting so he absolutely had to come back before he finished his adventures. You may have met Professor Hagrid before you were sorting into your houses or at some point or another this year and I think he was a blessing to the first years every year and is going to continue to be a blessing. Many of reasons why he is a blessing to us is because he helps us in so many ways especially in care of magical creatures even though he has never done it because this is his first year since we have lost our care magical creatures teacher last year because there was a tragic Fire by Haggard's Hut and she tragically passed away with about 5 to 7 students that year which was a very tragic year. That is why I am excited for this year because we have planned something big for Professor Hagrid which is why we are happy he is not here right now because we need to get this done in 2 weeks time which is why we are taking one week off of school so that you guys could help us because we have decided Professor Hagrid stays in a hotel until the party which means we need you all to help us before you do your studies. First and foremost we are going to rebuild his Hut and we're going to make it more like home and a Castle and then we are going to buy him things that he might need for his care of magical creatures class. This is also in remembrance for our last magical creatures because we are not using the same things that we used for her last year because as we need those in remembrance by her grave. Everyday there will be a picture of our professor from last year that tragically passed and it will be set up somewhere where the care magical creatures class will be held each day. But enough about that we like to say that last year Gryffindor House did something brave. Everyone in the house came out during the fire and saved as many students as they can and tried to break the Rivalry of Slytherin and Gryffindor by helping each other out. Yes the Rivalry might be split a little bit between the people who helped each other out last year but we still have some of it left and this year we would like Slytherin to try to help Gryffindor to break this and then and then yours to come we will try and help Ravenclaw and hufflepuff. That is why we are awarding two of our houses tonight some points. First and foremost we are going to give Slytherin 50 points as the start of this year to add on to their 120. And we are going to give of course since they were the house that helped us most last year we are going to give Gryffindor about 250 points since they saved so many kids that could have died and even though they couldn't save everyone we are still grateful for their kindness. As to the professors who helped out they are allowed to reward one house which can be their house or different house points. They can choose how many points they're allowed to give their house if they want to or the other houses but they will be allowed to do this each night this week so we're going to start with Professor McGonagall and go down the line. They all have written there points for the houses they want so they're taking a piece of paper and wrote the house name and the amount of points they're giving them for their bravery or for their ambition or for their character or for something else like intelligence Maybe. Starting off with Professor McGonagall she picked to give Gryffindor points. We are adding 375 points to the Gryffindor House. Now we are going to do Professor Sprout for the house Hufflepuff because she chose her house. She would like to Grant her house 120 points just because of their bravery and intelligence because they came out to help bring the professor and the students that were badly hurt almost killed into the hospital last year. Yes they might have not helped as much as Gryffindor but they still helped. Now we are on professor Josephine. She however is choosing to Grant points to her house as well but she is obviously the Ravenclaw house so she is giving Ravenclaw house 55 points as they just didn't do anything much to help they just helped put out the fire and get water and stuff but they didn't do as much as obviously Hufflepuff and Gryffindor like I previously said. Now Professor Snape. I allowed him to choose two houses tonight because he was in that fire but he got out as quickly as he could because what happened was he smelled smoke and he know to get out as quickly as possible. So he decided he was going to give Slytherin points but also Gryffindor. So his house Slytherin gets 42 points as they literally just didn't do anything except carry water and tried as hard as they could to do something that's just couldn't succeed and he is giving Gryffindor 1,299 points as they did the most work and I will be a warning Gryffindor another 2,799 points as they deserve it just because they did the most work and they are going all out this year. Just to let you know you can lose these points this week because if you don't help with the activity this week you can use all your points so Gryffindor keep up to work and now you may all dig into the food that would be here in 2 minutes time thank you.
