Beginning
I awaken, I get out of my bunk and rub my eyes. I had a strange dream, I can't recall what it was, nothing important I'm sure. My feet touch the cold concrete floor, not even my socks can protect my feet from the cold floor. Why do they keep the temperature so low anyways, it wouldn't kill them to turn the heat up once in a while. I look at the time, 6:30 A.M, almost time for roll call.
"Look who's finally here, slept like a baby didn't you? Ha, be lucky you got to sleep, I had guard duty all night. Who knows, maybe you'll be lucky enough to get it as well."
That's Agent Tang, a great buddy of mine, we both are in the Research & Development division. He's been by my side since I was an Alpha Agent, we've made great discoveries together and have proven ourselves to be useful to the Chaos Insurgency.
"Ha, in your dreams pal, besides, shouldn't the military division be the ones doing guard duty? If we are so valuable, wouldn't you think that the last thing the high command would want is for a Research & Development agent to be captured doing guard duty?"
I stopped and thought to myself. Why WOULD high command assign R&D agents to post near the gate. After all, that's the main entrance into the facility, it's where you'll find the military division, not R&D. There's a far greater chance of getting captured at the gate than anywhere else in the facility.
"C'mon Lance, you haven't forgotten, have you? There's a shortage of military operators right now, almost three fourths of our military were sent off to assist in a raid at Site 19. They should be back any day now, high command has kept details of the raid to a minimum. Besides, we have enough men here to defend the facility if anything were to happen. I'm sure everything will be alright."
I take a deep breath and look down at the cold concrete floor. I fear that we don't have enough men to defend against a SCP Foundation attack. After all, they have far more advanced technology and firepower than us. Who knows what they would do if they captured us. Best to not think about it too hard, I've got a long day ahead of me, the last thing I need is to be stressed about an attack.
"EVERYONE LINE UP"
I stand beside Agent Tang and go to attention, roll call begins. Military starts off with roll calls, then after they finish, Delta command does roll calls for Research & Development. It's a short roll call today because so many military operator's are missing due to the mission at Site 19.
"Alpha Agent CA Lance Cadent, report"
"Here Sir!"
That's me, the low rank of CA, still a valuable asset though.
"Alright, everything seems to check in, military report to your posts. And for Research &
Development, you will all report to the labs."
"I wonder why they want us to report to the labs, maybe it's something important, maybe it's an SCP. Wouldn't that be exciting Lance? We haven't captured an SCP for a while now, I'm bored out of my damn mind here in this facility."
I laugh along with Agent Tang, but deep down I dread the arrival of a captured SCP. They always bring trouble, no matter what. I tell myself that it's just a normal meeting like usual.
Me, Tang, and a few other Alpha Agents walk to the laboratory. We scan our cards and open the steel doors. We walk down the freezing steel hallway and open the door on the far left.
We enter the room and in front of us are two Beta Agents and one Delta Command. It's unusual for Delta Command to be in the same room as Alpha Agents, this must be important.
"Hello everyone, today we received SCP-049. We captured this entity during our Site-19 raid. Military sent SCP-049 back to the facility for us to experiment on and conduct tests. This is a dangerous SCP so we have it restrained. Here's a brief summary of SCP-049. SCP-049 is a humanoid creature that resembles a medieval plague doctor, it speaks English with a British accent and appears to have manners and respect. SCP-049 has the ability to turn both humans and animals into zombies if he touches them with his right hand. SCP-049 claims to be a doctor that wishes to cure all of humanity of its plague by "curing them with his touch". SCP-049 wishes to conduct experiments on living creatures."
