You know what sucks? Realizing the people you love the most will never love you 100%. That all the times you considered showing your true self, the hesitancy that eventually won actually saved you from a life of misery? That you struggle well into your adult life with who you are, because you never allowed that part of you to be an option, burying it so far down that no one would find it, not even yourself. Until one day you do. You question it. All of it. Where your jokes end and the truth begins. If you could see that version of you in the future. And that little crack was enough to make you realize that you neglected a part of yourself, never watered that part to grow, you never let it see the light. But it's a part of you. And it hurts because you don't want to bury it anymore. You know it's beautiful if it blooms. But some people consider it an unwanted weed instead of the flower it produces.
