Mondays. Monday's have to be the worst and hardest days of every week. You get up feeling and looking like the walking dead, struggle not to fall every step you take and attempt to stay awake the rest of the day. Without a doubt every single one is a pain. This year my birthday falls on one.March 23, the date of my birth and the day my own personal hell will spawn.
I go to school that morning with little excitement. I'm not the most popular girl in school to say the least and the only thing i'm expecting is for my best friend Jack to give me a piece of gum with the casual ''happy birthday''added on.
Jack is about 5'7'' with jet black hair and the most gorgeous green eyes you'll ever see. The girls would do anything for him but he isn't really "into it" as he says, I guess he likes a challenge or he isn't straight but that's a pretty slim chance.
I've known Jack ever since 3rd grade when he was the only one that bothered to talk to me. To say the least I was a little strange as a kid. I refused to leave the house without my teddy bear and the last kid who touched it i bit and that was the beginning of the end of my chance to become socially inclined.
Back to the point though, ever since that day me and Jack have been close friends.
By the time I made it to where I could see my locker I notice that Jack was standing right next to it, waiting for me with an expression of some sort of a smirk or smile on his face. I wonder what he's up to.
"Hey Ally"
"Hey? What are you up to?"
"Ahh, nothing why are you always assuming i'm up to something?"
"I don't!"
"Yes you do."
"Ok,ok whatever!"
I looked over at him with a look of disbelief and went to open my locker. Right when the door opened it triggered two cans of silly string to started spraying on me. All the time I was standing there getting dosed Jack was off to the side laughing his ass off to the point in which he started crying.
"Happy Birth...!" is all me managed to get out between his never ending giggling. I swear once he starts up there is no stopping him.
"Thanks." I said pulling the silly string off of me, keeping up my best " I can't believe you did this to me" face, but ofcouse he saw right through it.
"Bet you thought I wouldn't do anything, didn't you?"
"By now I wish you hadn't."
"You know you liked it, and I got you something else anyway."
" If it sprays, squirts, or anything else along those lines, I think I'll past, knowing you it probably will."
" Fine if you don't want it I'll just go get my money back." He started walking away knowing that would only spark my interest on whatever it was.
" No, what did you get I'm sure it's great." I said as I reached out for his arm, not total convinced it wasn't another stupid prank.
" I don't think you diserve it."
" Come on Jack, please!"
" Ok, but promised no matter that when you wear it.." He trailed off and started to blush.
" Jack... What's wro.."
" Nothing!" He interrupted.
Jack went back to his normal childish and cocky self.
" Every time you wear it you have to think of me."
I didn't know how to respond I just stood there for a second frozen. Aghh why did he have to go and do this, what the hell is he trying to do here! Snap out of it Ally! He has to be plotting something.
"If I refuse"
He didn't say anything, but pulled out a blue box with a bow an top.
"open it," he said with a serious tone.
I opened the box. Inside was a gold heart locket with my name engraved on the front.
"Jack wh-"
"Stop taking and open it already, I've been waiting for you to since Friday!"
" Its us."
I started to blush as my mouth hung open like an idiot. I can't believe he did this, for me, Jack has never been good at gifts.
"You don't like it do you, I knew it I should have just-"
"No, I love it, it's.... Beautiful, it just took me by surprise that's all."
Before he could say anything I basically threw myself on him without thinking about it till I already had a hold. I couldn't help but blush and I'm not sure why, Jack's just a friend and always has been, why would that change now. As I was thinking this over I felt Jack's arms wrap around my waist and pull me in closer as his head was practically dug into my neck.
"Happy 17th Ally."
