You've never been a huge reader, but you've enjoyed a good book now and then. Now, with an entire Asgardian library at your fingertips, you've started a pile of tomes and novels that seem interesting to work through. You also have access to Loki's "training room", which seems to be a fancy Asgardian gym. There's no normal exercise equipment, but many large and kind of scary weapons and other things you assume Loki trains with. You've started revisiting your martial arts training with the staffs there for exercise, although you'd much prefer a gun than a piece of wood.
The building also contains a few handfuls of rooms with no apparent purpose but to display art and artifacts. The rooms are all interconnected by entryways and long, sprawling hallways, creating a maze of marble and gold. If you didn't have such a highly trained sense of direction, you could definitely get lost wandering.
Are you completely content here? No. But with so much room to run and so many things to do, the crushing pain has lessened to a dull ache. A spark of security is alight in your chest, ignited by Loki that first day when he pulled you aside, pulling your chin up to face him before stating simply yet sternly, "You are not to hurt like that. Ever again."
You know that's an order toward you, but you can't help but think maybe it's an unspoken promise also, acting as a vow that Loki will do what it takes to keep that pain from returning. Stupid, maybe, but you can't help it.
One door in the building doesn't open for you, which is of course, the exit. A simple passageway stretches out beyond the doorway- you peeked once as Loki left- but what exists past the corner is a mystery. You've tried the door each time you leave but Loki keeps it locked shut. He typically enters through the door as well, creating an almost domestic feeling of excitement when you hear the latch turn.
It feels so good to have a real space to exercise. You run through the building every morning and utilize the equipment in Loki's training room.
Loki has some badass swords and shit in here, and even thought they seem completely unnecessary for self defense, they're fun to mess around with. You have ample hand to hand and melee combat training, so it's not an entirely new concept. Hacking pieces out of the combat dummies is a good way to get aggression out, too.
"Having fun?" Loki pokes his head into the room as you're tearing into one of the figures, taking chunks out as you swing the sword. You pause to glance at him while wiping the sweat off your brow.
"You here to join me?" You hold the sword out to him and he rolls his eyes. "I have no need to train with you."
"Come on, do you have something better to do?"
His gaze darkens. "I can think of something."
"Very funny. I don't know, Loki, how long has it been since you've trained with someone? You could be getting rusty-"
In a single flash of green Loki's behind you, pressing a dagger to your throat. "You were saying, pet?"
Your breath catches from the shock. "Not fair." You whisper before clearing your throat. "Your magic..."
Loki sheathes his knife but keeps a loose hold on your neck, grazing his lips gently against it. "Ah, but an assassin must be prepared for anything."
You settle your racing heart and slide your mental block into place while leaning back against Loki's body. You press into him, stretching your neck... then suddenly reach for the knife at his side.
Your hand makes contact with the handle before you're swept up in a cloud of green smoke and slammed to the floor. Loki has the knife back at your throat, but you grin victoriously. "I am."
