You wake up at 1am, your family are all asleep.
You know you have issues sleeping so you don't bother trying to sleep again.
Instead you decide to go downstairs to obtain a glass of water due to an itching sensation occuring in your throat.*Downstairs*
You have finished stumbling down the stairs, you feel tired so your actions are sloppy and some inaccurate.
You go to your cabinets and reach for a glass.
With the glass you take it over to the sink, then you turn the knob towards you.
Cold water shoots out giving you an unsettling shiver due to the unexpected temperature of the water hiting your hand.
You pull your hand away out of reflexes, the putting your arm back to fill the glass. You begin to walk away from the sink, then you think it's a good idea to use the restroom so you place down your glass and make your way to the downstairs bathroom.
*Bathroom*
You've just finished doing your business so you reach out for the tap, not wanting to feel the freezing water again you use the hot tap.
To your suprise the taps are polar opposites.
The boiling water reddens your skin.
It burns.
You don't pull away.
Instead you let it burn
It feels good against your pale skin.
You leave the incinerating water brushing against you skin for what feels like forever. You want to stop but you can't, instead you just stare at your hand.
You only pull away when you hear a shuffling sound occur behind you and out of shock you pull your hand away. You snap back into reality to realise your hand was bright red and in constant pain.
It was definitely burnt.
To your shock you realise the shuffling sound was just your cat so you let out a subtle and quiet sigh of relief.
You go back to the water tap that you previously used to fill your yet-drunken glass of water. You turn the cold tap so that the pain on your burn will eeze a little.
It hurts more to begin with, before the pain eventually fades away into a mild bearable sting. You return back to the glass of water you made...you look at the time , shocking you that it's 1:46am and that 46minutes have already passed since you made the glass of water and first came downstairs.
You reach towards the glass of water, the glass stinging your sore hand as the burn had not yet adjusted to encountering objects yet.
Due to your stinging hand you drop the glass, the pain almost unbearable. Only when a loud shattering sound occur that you realized what you had done. You really hope your family didn't hear.
*Sensitive part*
You then get down on your hands and knees to pick up the bigger glass fragments. Shards layed jammed in-between your layers of skin in your legs. It doesn't hurt that much despite the blood dripping from them. You pick up a sharp shard of glass, about to throw it in the trash can that sat still across the room.
But you don't.Instead you point the glass against your wrist.
Then push down and watch the blood drip.
It hurts but not severely, in fact, you enjoyed it, so much that you do it again, you watch more blood drip, then you repeat the process, again and again and again. You only stop when you hear the clock tower located near you house chime two times -2am-.
You realise that your wrists are in agony, your legs and stinging and your burnt hand is shivering in pain.
Instead of reacting normally though, such as seeking medical attention or obtaining a bandage. You laugh-
You laugh in a shrill voice, a voice that would make anyone instantly scared as soon as it reached their ears.
You sit down in the glass shards brining further pain, glass shards stab into you, the blood is practically forming a puddle around you. Your laugh now sounds more like a scream. The thick blood drops from your wrists.
Your vision becomes blurry, you see a outline of a person enter the room that you remained lied down in. You can't get a glance at the person infront as your eyes have lost most traces of vision.
Your arm reached out as you know you need help.
It's too late you lost consciousness.
