"Akshu what have you decided?"

Akshara looked on as everyone looked at her. Mimi with hope in her eyes while Bade papa looked tired. She knew her bade papa only suggested this alliance because of constant pressure from his mother and wife. At an age where he had to rest, he was still struggling to settle his granddaughters.

She looked at Kairav whose eyes held only warmth and support for her. And at last, her eyes flicked to Abhimanyu who looked at her with love and hope.

She felt her stomach twist with a sick feeling.

When Abhimanyu and she were together, he never bothered to treat her well. Yes, he loved her but that was it. He had no trust in her.

Anyone who thought that she would marry Abhimanyu again didn't know her enough.

Yes, in the beginning when she was pregnant in Kasauli she had thoughts about Abhimanyu. Her mind revolved only around him. She wished he would search for her and come, begging her for forgiveness and asking her to come back.

And she would have forgiven him.

She would have forgiven him in an instant just to have her dream of a happy family be completed.

But the present Akshara knew it was a whimsical thought.

Yes.

Abhimanyu had asked her for forgiveness and she too had forgiven him.

But that didn't mean she had forgotten what she had to go through.

"My answer is No. I don't want to marry Abhimanyu."

"Kyun? Why do you not want to marry him?" asked Mimi

"Kyun mein shaadi karun? I see no reason to marry, Mimi"

"Par Akshara if you and Abhimanyu get married, Abhir will get a complete and happy family." Manjari intervened trying to convince Akshara

"Only Abhinav coming back to life will complete our family Aunty and anyways I'm not stopping Abhimanyu from meeting Abhir. Abhir will always remain Abhimanyu's son and us not marrying wouldn't change that fact." Akshara retaliated, standing firm on her decision.

"But Abhir will feel better if his parents stay together, Akshara" Manjari tried coercing her again.

"I would rather have Abhir making trips to your house than watching his biological parents stay in a loveless marriage." Akshara firmly replied with anger lurking behind her eyes.

"It won't be a loveless marriage Akshara, I love you, even now", Abhimanyu voiced out.

"But, I don't. I don't love you and I don't think I can ever. My heart belongs to Abhinav and will always remain so, "Akshara's voice softened with emotions as she told her feelings. Abhimanyu's heart twisted. In the past, her eyes would fill with love and her voice would become soft for him. Only for him. But he lost everything due to his own foolishness.

Akshara looked into Abhimanyu's eyes. She could see the hurt swimming in the but she had to clear out things before it became an even bigger spectacle.

"Abhinav! Abhinav! What is there in Abhinav that my Abhi lacks? In fact, my son is a hundred times better than your penniless husband." Manjari said, anger simmering inside her. She absolutely hated how these Goenkas looked down upon her son.

Turning to Muskan she shouted, "Your brother! He didn't have money or property. Even god knew he was so undeserving that he was an orphan without a family. And you dare compare my son with him."

"Mrs Birla!"

"It would be better if you control your words. I will not stand here and hear you spew shit about my husband." Akshara warned Manjari.
