I wake up with my stomach feeling twisted. This only happens when something bad is going to happen.
I ignore it and get ready to go to the arcade. I lost my keys AGAIN. I searched the whole house, I jumped to grab my pills and then, I heard my keys, clinging, aaaaaaah.
I opened the car door and got in, i drove off. I stopped at Starbucks and got a coffee with a cinnamon roll. I spilled coffee in my lap and drove off the rode. Luckily i drove into a ditch and could easily get back out. I popped the airbag and turned the radio on while popping my neck and rubbing it.I got to the arcade parking lot and parked my car and right as I turned the ignition off I got a call from a strange number. "Hello? I have terrible news. Your mother had gotten trapped in a shoot out and is now in the hospital hanging on to her life. If you can, can you please immediately come to the hospital?" I was speechless and trying to hold the tears in. " Um yes of coarse. Thank you for telling me as soon as you could. I'll be there in a minute. What is the hospital?" " North Mercury." " Yes. Duh. Thank you. Good bye. "
I was shaking so much I couldn't get my roll into my mouth so I just put it in the dash and continued to drive. I turned into the parking lot and found a parking spot at the front. I got out of the car and it felt like my legs where jello. I took a bunch of deep breaths and walked through the front doors to be greeted by my dad and two doctors ready to lead me to her room.
As we are going to the floor by the elivator, I lean on my dads chest and start to cry. He holds me tight and says everything is going to be Okay. I pull my head up and watch the elevators lights slowly move up to the fourth floor and the doors open.My dad grabbed the telephone next to the door marked ICU. My dad told the person on the other line that it was her husband and daughter. He put the phone back and the doors opened up and my dad grabbed my wrist tightly and jerked my with him to my mom's room. He let go as he pulled the door open and walked in. I stood their staring at her, I didn't know what to do but stare, I've never seen her like this before. I slowly shuffled in and moved beside the bed and examined all the chords connected to her and these weird machines. I teared up and looked down at my mom, she looked so different, so...blue. I slipped my fingers into her hand and tightened my grip. I let it out, everything, every bad memory, every breakup, every time I got hurt, all of it. I cried so much that my dad left the room, I laid down beside my mom and put my head on her shoulder and snuggled up to her like I used to when I was little. The tears on my face dried up and made my face feel tight. I fell asleep to the sound of the beeping of the machines and Nightmare Before Christmas playing.
