Its already 10 am when I wake up but it feels and looks like 6 am . The streets look foggy and feel chilly. My room is so cold I have to wrap myself in two more blankets. The perks of being in London , its weather was always so gloomy and cold . Thats why when sunny days came I took full advantages of it. My mom suddenly walks into my room and Im startled by her ."Geez woman havent you ever heard of knocking?" I remark. She just laughs and says "Sure I have. Have you ever heard of waking up early?"She smirks at me. I laugh and continue to lie on my bed. "Oh ," She says suddenly ," Theres someone here to see you, I think his name's Liam . Says he knows you." I sit up straight , Liam is here in my house , I think to myself. Why? "Tell him Im on my way down." I say to my mother as I get out of my bed and head to the bathroom.
She walks out and I hear her make her way down the stairs. I quickly change into a pair of jeans and a sweater with a longsleeve underneath . I slip into a pair of flats and pull my hair into a high pony tail. I race down the stairs and head to the living room . Liam isnt there and neither is my mom . I was about to yell for them but then I hear voices coming from the kitchen. I walk inside and see Liam casually talking to my mom as she brews tea on the stove. "Good morning " I say as I walk into the kitchen , Liam turns and smiles at me before saying good morning back. "Why are you here ?" I say a little to abruptly. "Monika !" my mom says " That is no way to speak to people!" "Sorry" I mumble back . Liam just laughs and then says " If its okay with your mom , I thought you might want to hang out today and walk the streets of London with me". I smile and then turn to my mom ,"Can I?" I ask. She looks at me and then says ," I dont know Monika , I mean Liam says you two met yesterday and I dont know whether to trust him just yet ".
I blink and stare at her for what seems like a minute. Thats when Liam speaks up , "Dont worry ma'am I'll make sure she gets home safe and sound . Plus my mom will be with us because she has errands to do , you could call her to confirm if you'd like." My mom hesitates but finally agrees , I tell her thank you and run to my room to grab my purse. Two minutes later Liam and me are out the door and driving to the Center of London. All through the ride we laugh and sing along to songs. When we get to the Center of London we meet up with Liams' mom and his sisters , Nicola and Ruth. His sisters and I hit it off pretty well and soon enough we were practically sisters even if they were older than me. "Okay , this is the plan guys ," Liams' mom began ,"Nicola help Ruth find school uniforms ; Liam and Monika you can go street viewing but be back here in 2 hours . If you guys need anything , I will be a phone call away." We all nodded and went our separate ways . During our walk I kept making Liam follow me into the girl stores and help me pick out stuff , turns out he was no help. "That looks good" he said for what felt like the 50th time . I laughed and replied , " Liam you think everything looks good , have you got no taste in fashion ?" He chuckled and I smiled back at him. "Sorry," he said " Im just not comfortable in saying critiques about stuff". "It's okay " I replied before giving him a sheepish smile.
After an hour of walking I felt tired and hungry. I guess Liam felt the same because he eventually said he was hungry as well. We walked into a cafe and ordered our meal. I had ordered a ham sandwich with a glass of lemonade while he ordered a chicken salad and a glass of lemonade as well. After our lunch , Liam spoke up that it was time to head back to meet his mom. I nodded and after he paid our lunch we walked back laughing at more of his jokes . When we finally met up with his mom again she looked relieved we where alive. "15 minutes late , Liam we agreed two hours , I thought something had happened to you guys!" She said, her voice raising with every word. "Sorry mom , Monika and me got hungry so we stopped to eat." he said with a regrettful tone . I felt bad that Liam was getting in trouble , when technically we both were late. I began to speak in defense of Liam but his mom stopped me ," No, doll this isn't your fault." she said . I didnt know what to say or do so I stayed still. Soon enough Liam was driving me back home .
When we reached my house I turned to Liam and said " I had fun today , thank you for inviting me ." He smiled and began to speak but I stopped him , " Oh, and sorry you got in trouble ; it wasn't all your fault " . He spoke up and said " No , Monika it was my fault I should have checked the time . " I couldnt help but pull him into a hug . It would have been nice but hugging in a car is very complicated. He didn't mind though , he pulled me in for a hug as well. He let go of his hold while he got out of the car and opened the passenger door for me. He walked me to my doorstep and before he left he placed a small kiss on my cheek. "Bye Monika , see you soon " He turned and headed for his car but I yelled at him , "Wait Liam , I forgot to give you my phone number!" He yelled back ," Just text me and I'll recieve it." I nodded and he waved goodbye before he climbed into his car. I waved back and then turned towards my home.
