As Ash challenged Alain to a battle, Alain accepted, and the battle began. They agreed on a three-on-three battle with one Mega Evolution allowed per battle.
"Let's have three on three battle and one Mega per battle, what do you say?" suggested Alain.
"Yeah, sure, now let's begin! Sceptile, I choose you!" said Ash as he called out Sceptile.
"Sceptile!" responded Ash's Sceptile.
"Metagross, you're up," said Alain as he chose Metagross.
With their first Pokémon chosen, the battle began. Ash commanded Sceptile to use Leaf Blade, and it delivered a powerful hit to Metagross. Alain retaliated with a Hyper Beam, but Sceptile's Leaf Blade cut through it.
"Keep pushing!" Alain urged.
However, Ash had a plan. "Use Dragon Claw!" he commanded.
Sceptile's Dragon Claw clashed with Metagross's Metal Claw. They were evenly matched for a moment, but then Ash instructed Sceptile to fall back, and Sceptile closed his eyes in concentration.
"Now's our chance, Metagross, use Earthquake!" Alain called out.
As Metagross prepared to use Earthquake, Sceptile gathered the sun's energy. Just as Metagross was about to strike, Ash commanded Sceptile to use Solar Beam. Sceptile unleashed a powerful Solar Beam that burned through the ground, hitting Metagross and causing it to faint.
"Alright!" cheered Ash, and Sceptile raised its hand in victory.
Metagross was recalled by Alain. "You fought well. That Solar Beam was pretty strong and fast as well, but it's still the start," Alain remarked.
Alain then sent out his Dragonite, surprising Ash. "A Dragonite!" Ash exclaimed.
"Yeah, I caught it when it was still a Dratini, at first it was a bit shy and worried, but after travelling with us for some time it got used to us. influenced by Charizard, Dratini looked up to Charizard and battled hard everyday, just to catch up with him, After a lot of training and traveling, it evolved into Dragonair and eventually into Dragonite. We became close partners, just like Charizard and I," Alain explained.
Ash was impressed. "Awesome! Heard that, Sceptile? We can't back down."
Now lets us continue, Dragonite use dragon pulse! Alain commanded Dragonite.
Alain had Dragonite use Dragon Pulse, but Ash had a plan.
Use leaf storm against the ground! Ash commanded Sceptile.
Ash commanded Sceptile to use Leaf Storm into the ground, launching itself into the air. Dragonite aimed upward with Dragon pulse.
Now leaf storm once again this time against the tree, said Ash.
As Sceptile used leaf storm against the tree beside him, he pushed himself away as he fell towards Dragonite.
Don't let him land use dragon claw, Alain commanded Dragonite.
