This was different. Everyone was sitting at a table together, not talking. M sat between Killcode and Earth, her fingers laced together as she watched Sun and Moon stare at each other. Moon had just got back, perfectly fine, but Sun was mad at him because he didn't talk to him first before opening the portal. So here they all were, sitting in awkward silence, and M was not liking one bit of it.
"Let's play a game!" She exclaimed, trying to lighten the mood.
"That sounds like a good idea," Earth chimed in.
Everyone agreed to play a game.
"What kind of games do we have?" M asked.
"Well," Moon started. "We have Monopoly, Minecraft... Uno-" The way he said Uno was a little scary, but M ignored it.
"I like Uno," M said softly. "Could we do Uno?
"Sure, let's do Uno!" Sun exclaimed in a strained happy voice.
Lunar grabbed an Uno box, brought it back, shuffled the cards, and dealt them out. M looked at her cards, and they were pretty good. Moon started.________________________________________________________________________________
After about thirty minutes, multiple things were thrown out of anger, and Eclipse ended with over 20 cards. M finally placed her final card.
"I win!" She cheered happily, glad the game was over. She giggled as a collective relieved sigh went around the table. "Do you really hate playing Uno that much, you guys?"
"No..." Moon muttered. "We just get a little... Competitive when playing this game. Especially Sun."She looked over to Sun, who was leaning against the back of his chair, his hands on his face. He looked like he wanted to scream. But thankfully he just sighed.
"Can we NEVER play this again?" He asked, his words muted slightly by his hands.M laughed. "Okay. We don't have to if you don't want to, Sunny. How about a different game instead?" Before anything could suggest something, a yawn escaped M's lips, giving away how long it had been since she last slept.
Moon's sensors turned up, and he came over and Scanned M, his eyes widening. "You haven't slept for nearly 32 hours, M! Why were you up for so long!?"
"32 hours?" Killcode growled. He picked up M, taking her over to the Sleeping nook, Moon trailing behind him. "You are going to sleep right now."
"Guys! I-I'm not that-" Another yawn came from M. She started to lean her head onto Killcode, her body betraying her at the promise of sleep. "Tired..." Her eyes started to droop, but she shook her head to stay awake. "I'm not sleepy!" She stated, crossing her arms.
Moon rolled his eyes, his stride the same as Killcode's. "You are at the age where you need more sleep than ever."
"I'm 15..." She muttered, her eyelids starting to fall again.
"All the more reason to sleep," Killcode said as Moon nodded.
M mumbled something incoherent under her breath as she looked away from them, letting Killcode carry her over and set her in a sleeping bag. Moon brought over a plushie, and they both got her to sleep within seconds. Killcode sighed, smiling softly down at her."You think of her as your child, don't you?" Moon asked him. Killcode looked at Moon with an annoyed look, but sighed and turned back to M. "I do. Besides, Eclipse and the twins could use a good example for a sister." "Why don't you ask her about it tomorrow?" Killcode smiled. "Yeah, I think I will." The two walked away, neither of them noticing the smile on M's face, for she heard the entire conversation.
