Ch. 25

Ethan was hiding in an enemy hideout when he overheard a conversation about a demon egg. Curious, he thought to himself, "What egg are they talking about?" Suddenly, a guard spotted him peeking around the corner.

"Hey, you! What are you doing here?" the guard shouted as he drew his sword. The guard charged at Ethan, attempting to attack. Ethan quickly dodged, blocking the guard's slash with his own sword. He parried the next strike and kicked the guard away. In the chaos, Ethan spotted a box and threw it at the guard, then managed to stab him.

Hearing the commotion, a knight woman said, "What was that? Guard, go see what happened!"

Ethan realized he had to escape as another guard spotted him. "We've got an enemy here!" the guard shouted, and the chase began. As Ethan ran, a guard appeared in front of him, swinging his sword. Ethan parried the blow and slashed the guard's throat, continuing to flee.

But soon, a group of guards blocked his exit, surrounding him. The knight woman approached, saying, "So, you must be Ethan, the one with the power of darkness. You should have died that day."

"What day are you talking about?" Ethan responded, confused.

The knight woman mentioned Flora, asking, "Didn't you know?"

He pressed for answers, but she commanded the guards, "Kill him!" The guards drew their swords, ready to fight. Ethan unsheathed his sword, preparing himself.

The first guard lunged at him, but Ethan parried the strike and kicked the guard aside. Another guard tried to slash him, but Ethan dodged and slashed the guard's ear. Blood sprayed everywhere, splattering Ethan's face as the guard fell.

Ethan struggled to catch his breath, still clutching his sword, when another guard tried to stab him. He dodged again, but a different guard managed to pierce his back. Ethan retaliated, slashing the attacker's throat, sending blood everywhere as the guard collapsed.

The knight woman, seeing the carnage, ordered the guards to step back. "Let me fight him," she declared. As they retreated, she taunted Ethan. "You're running out of breath and energy. Let's see what you've got."

Drawing her sword, the knight woman charged at Ethan. He swung at her, but she blocked his attack. Ethan struck again, only to meet her block once more. He attempted to stab her, but she dodged and slashed at his leg and arm.

Ethan fought back, trying to strike her, but she parried and slashed his guts. "Goodbye, Ethan," she said, preparing to decapitate him.

Just then, a woman wielding a sword intervened, blocking the knight woman's blow. The knight turned, demanding, "Who are you?"

The black-clad woman replied, "Leave him alone," then swiftly sliced off the knight woman's hand. In pain, the knight woman ordered the guards, "Let's retreat to the ship!"

As they ran back, Ethan managed to ask the woman, "Who are you?"
