A week has passed since the whole notification incident, and yet, I could not seem to contain my excitement.
My friends are no different.
Nicole constantly voices how her dreams have finally become a reality, and that she now has the chance in a lifetime to meet her favorite boy band.
Caylynn is no different. I've caught her on multiple occasions, in her own world as she stares off into space with a dreamy smile on her face, daydreaming about meeting BTS.
Falling onto the couch out of exhaustion, I allow my body to relax as I feel myself melt into the couch.
So soft...
"Abby!", I groan as Nicole's voice calls for me, but I remain laying on the couch.
A few minutes passed as I'm just about to drift into dreamland. That is until...
SMACK!
"Ouch!", I jump up and hold my arm in pain from where I had been hit.
Sitting up on the couch, I tilt my head and come face to face with an annoyed looking Nicole.
Blink
Blink
"Yes?", I asked quietly, slowly putting some distance between us since I didn't want to be smacked again.
With arms crossed over her chest she rolls her eyes before speaking.
"I've been calling your name for a while now but you haven't been answering"
"Oh, sorry", I smiled sheepishly as I give her an apologetic smile.
She sighs before resuming to speak.
"It's fine. I was calling you to ask if you're done packing"
At that, my eyes widen in shock as I gasp and jump to my feet.
"Oh my God! I haven't packed yet and we're leaving tomorrow!" I exclaimed as I jumped off the couch and sprinted towards my room, passing Caylynn on the way as she shook her head in mock disappointment.
"Seriously? How could you forget about that?" Caylynn voice spoke up as I hurried into my room and pulled out a suitcase.
"I was busy and lost track of time!", I scrambled around my room, trying to get a few outfits and toiletries together, "Give me a few minutes and I'll be done!".
Running around my room like a mad women, I managed to grab a few decent outfits in my state of panic before packing all my things into my suitcase.
Zipping my suitcase up, I slumped forward with a heavy sigh, silently applauding myself for working fast.
Caylynn walked into my room and snickered when she saw my predicament.
"It's not funny!", I pouted in annoyance.
She walked up to me and offered her hand to pull me to my feet.
"Come on, we've ordered pizza" She said, holding my hand as I let her pull my along towards the kitchen to where Nicole was getting us drinks.
Breathing in the delicious aroma of the pizzas, my stomach let out a loud, embarrassing growl, reminding me that I had not eaten the entire day.
Snatching a slice, I took a bite and moaned at the delicious taste as my mouth burst with flavor.
"Slow down", Caylynn scolded me light heartedly as she took a seat beside me, Nicole taking the seat across from me.
We ate our pizza in a comfortable silence until someone decided to break it.
That someone was me.
Wiping my mouth off with a paper towel I looked at my two best friends before speaking up.
"Have you ever thought about finding and meeting your soulmate?", I ask and wait for them to reply to my question.
Nicole nods her head as Caylynn hums in response as she takes another bite out of her pizza.
"There's been many occasions where I think about meeting my soulmate", Nicole speaks as a small smile graces her lips.
"Not really", Caylynn says after a while of silence. This makes both Nicole and I look at her. "I'm not in a rush to meet mine".
"What about you?", Caylynn gently nudges me with her arm.
I took a while to reply, getting lost in thought.
"I'm going to be honest, I'm scared", I spoke up after a long while.
Nicole gave a look of confusion. "Scared? Of who, your soulmate?".
Shaking my head I take a sip of the alcohol in my hand before replying.
"No, I'm scared of whether they will except me or not", sighing softly, I continued, "The generation of today is fucked up and I'm scared of the type of person my soulmate will be".
"Will they cherish and love me for who I am, or will they break my heart and leave me with all the pieces", It was silent after I finished.
I looked at the alcohol in the glass that sat in my hand, not wanting to make eye contact with my friends.
Before I could even process, I'm being sandwiched between two warm bodies.
Nicole on my left and Caylynn on my right. Both of them squeezed me between them as the hugged me tightly.
"I know that whoever your soulmate is, will fall in love with you instantly", Caylynn said softly as she rested her cheek on the top of my head.
I felt Nicole nod before she spoke up as well. "They will be lucky to have you in their life, just like we are", she said softly before speaking once more.
"And if they give you any trouble, I will deal with them myself", Nicole said while hugging me tighter.
"Aw guys, you're going to make me cry, stop being so sweet", I laughed softly as I held them close to me.
Pulling away from our hug, both gave me wide smiles.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Nicole pulled out more alcohol and placed it on the table.
"Nicole, no", Caylynn said as she looked at Nicole like she was crazy, "We have an early morning flight tomorrow!".
"Ok, and?", Nicole replied as she started pouring the alcohol into our glasses.
The two of them continued to bicker back and forth, bringing a smile to my face as I watched the interaction in front of me.
How did I get so lucky to have them in my life...
