Blood is interesting. It's under the surface, never showing up unless you're hurt. I was hurt, and my blood showed up. My brothers. They saved me.

I thought I would never have a family again. I thought I was doomed to a life with Benny. But my brothers changed that. They broke down my walls and helped me become normal again.

Blood is not only interesting, it is vital. My brothers are my lifeline. They saved me.

I stared at the college acceptance letter in front of me, reading the bold headline, smiling.

Congratulations on your acceptance into Harvard University!

I ran my finger over the lettering and then flinched, studying the paper cut on my pointer finger, smiling at the irony.

Starfish whined and snuffled at my side when he smelled the salty liquid.

I smiled and patted him on the head. "It's ok, bud. I'm fine."

And I was. I was more than fine, I was happy.  I was home.
