Step on a crack.
Walk under a ladder.
Cross paths with a black cat.Friday the 13th in Richmond Academy was always surrounded by bad stuff happening. There'd been protests made to close the school on this day in the past. But non of them were ever heeded.
Richmond Academy was a school of elites. Only the richest of families were enrolling their kids there. A school that granted many open doors for future politicians and people of power.
With this came a lot of greed and the thirst to be on top. To rule over and overshadow the rest. By any means possible.
This was once brought up when Richmond faced cult allegations a few years back. The stories were dismissed when the reporters and investigators hung themselves a few months into the investigations.
That was another thing scary about Richmond. The unspoken stays unspoken. Stay in line and get out. All allegations with the school were contained and never surfaced.
And now Gabrielle entered the school gates of Richmond Academy. The eerie silence as she got wild stares from her classmates and peers. Words like 'cannibal' and 'murderer' on their tongues.
She tried as best as she could to ignore them in class. Their eyes pierced her soul. Their words like knives stabbing her. This was what it meant to be at the very low of Richmond. The weak get picked on.
That's just how it went in this sick school. The dark truth no amount of journalists and undercover investigators could ever dig out. She tried hard to pay attention in class during the lecture.
The whispers getting to her. She looked at her friend group. None of them bothering to help her or even talk to her. It was like they didn't even know her.
Lunchtime came around she sat alone trying to eat her food. All eyes were still on her then. Wicked hidden smiles. Predatory eyes.
Just then just as she was still eating there it was. The smell and taste of blood again. She coughed it up. Taking a look at her food.
Crushed glass. She looked around still coughing up blood. Laughter broke out in the cafeteria. She'd been set up. She knew the students here were evil. But crushed glass?
They closed in on her pointing and laughing at her.
"Die! murderer! Cannibal!"
All these words filled her ears. Like a chant. This was a side of the school she never thought she'd see. She tried getting up only to be pushed down.
Food rained down on her. A lot of buzzing boo's, spit and urges she should kill herself.
It all broke down when there was yelling in the distance of the Headteacher. The students scrambled and soon she was alone on the floor. Her conscious slowly fading.
Last thing she remembered was people yelling for the school nurse. It slowly got dark and quiet. A cold darkness washing and spreading over her.
Friday the 13th.
