Over a month had passed since Lux's birthday. Since she had decided to keep the ring. Almost as soon as her birthday celebrations had finished, Lux had locked herself in her room, beginning to work on a new project.

She wouldn't let anyone in, or tell them what she was doing. Not her mother, not Yuuma, and not Kas. The three people who knew almost everything about Lux. Not knowing worried Kas, almost as much as the isolation Lux was putting herself through. Sure this wasn't the first time Lux had done something like this, but those times she would usually let someone, usually Kas, stay with her while she worked. But not this time.

Esther tried her best to reassure Kas that Lux was fine, and would be fine. That whatever she was working on wasn't worth worrying herself over. But that didn't work.

Weeks passed by. The only time was ever really seen outside her room was when she came out for food or drinks, if she didn't forget, making her mother pick the door lock, and watch her eat the food she would bring Lux.

There was only so long Kas could keep herself not worrying. And that period had come and gone very quickly. Any time Kas managed to get into Lux's room she would be met with shuffling to hide the project, and then being pushed out the door, being told to 'not worry' and to 'just wait' before the door was shut.

Then a month officially passed.

Kas waited and waited, being as patient as possible. But she was sick of it. So, once again she found herself outside of Lux's room, preparing to get into the room, and not leave until Lux came with her.

She let out a deep breath as she reached towards the door.

It swung open before Kas had the chance to do anything. Lux stood on the other side with a big, almost proud, smile on her face. One hand held the door open, the other held onto a metal rectangle. "Kassie!" Her smile seemed to widen at the sight of her best friend.

Kas' eyes lingered on the metal rectangle, taking a moment to recognize it. It was Lux's lighter. One she had gotten when she was old enough to start picking things up. The members of The Starlight Crew always jokingly referred to it as the first thing Lux had ever stolen.

Lux ducked backwards as Kas swung for her. "A fucking lighter?" She almost yelled. "You spent a month working on a lighter?" She asked, folding her arms as she took a moment to calm herself.

Kas moved out of the way as Lux stepped out of her room, closing the door behind her. Kas grabbed her shoulder, eyes locked onto her earlobe, where a star earring proudly sat. Lux quickly broke the silence, "Before you try and hit me again, I would like to say technically, this was a part of locking myself into the room, so you're going against the rule."
