Morning came and Juliette already wanted to curl up in a hole and die. Jackson was in love with Lily Evans. That mere thought made her want to shoot herself. She sat with Kayla in DADA, mindlessly listening to the boring lesson that was going on.
The doors to the classroom burst open and James Potter and Sirius Black stood there with smirks on their faces. Everyone's eyes were on them. Just by their expressions you could tell they loved the attention. The professor just rolled her eyes and told them to sit down.
James and Sirius sat behind Remus and Peter and in front of Juliette and Kayla. Jackson had decided to sit with Lily on the other side of the classroom. James and Juliette's head gravitated towards the couple. Grimaces laced their faces as they watched them smile at each other and both of their cheeks turned a crimson shade.
Juliette felt a sinking sadness take place in her stomach. It wasn't a new feeling Jackson has had girlfriends before, but none of them have been as perfect as Lily Evans. She hated it. She hated being jealous of someone over a stupid boy. She had been kind and patient. She'd tried to hint to him over the years that she was borderline in love with him. Why wasn't she enough?
James was having a very similar feeling except he felt more disgusted toward Jackson. He couldn't believe that Lily would choose Jackson over him. He had tried for so many years and he had never seen the pair cross paths before this year. He had declared his love publicly and he tried to do it privately too. He'd written letters, gave her gifts, made her songs, and asked her out almost every day since the beginning of second year. Why wasn't he enough?
Neither one of them knew that the other was having the same struggles. They both agreed last night not to talk about the couple that haunts their thoughts and just get to know each other. Their shared jealousy that they tried to conceal under masking smiles and hollow laughs were mirrored. Both of their friends noticed the emptiness that laid behind their eyes.
James and Juliette's minds were traveling back to the table on the other side of the room. Thoughts circled throughout both of their heads, thinking of ways to make it stop. Juliette shook her head as she thought about something that would most likely work. James who was thinking the same thing glanced back at Juliette. A smirk growing on his face at the mere thought.
James Potter had a plan.

Juliette let out a quiet sigh of relief whenever she walked out of the DADA classroom. She finally got to escape her own living hell and go to her favorite class, Herbology. Kayla walked by her side as they made their way down the hallway. They had both nonverbally decided that they were not waiting for Jackson to get relieved from his love spell.
