Juliette woke up the next morning fairly early. Kayla and all of her roommates were still asleep. She got dressed and happily made her way to the common room with her book hoping to get in some reading time.
As she made her way down the stairs to her common room warmth hit her skin. The fireplace roared and the sunrise could be seen out the windows. An earthy smell hung in the air due to all the plants, but it also smelled an awful lot like honey too.
Jackson was sat on the couch. His head turned to the fire as he sat there. He seemed to be deep in thought.
"hey, jack" Juliette softly said as she took a seat in front of him. He glanced over at her and smiled slightly.
"hey. what book are you reading?" He asked. Juliette felt her heart grow warm and she smiled and looked down at the book to hide her blush.
"um, it's just Little Women" Jackson nodded.
"Haven't you read that book like 7 times?" Juliette smiled shyly.
"Maybe. but it's a comfort book" Jackson just nodded at her words.
"Where were you last night? Kayla and I stayed up waiting for you. We were supposed to do our catch up on summer talk" Jackson's eyebrows furrowed.
"Oh, um, I was with James. We stayed out longer than I thought we would" She answers while opening up her book.
"James Potter?" He asks. Juliette just nods. Jackson rolls his eyes and annoyance was present in his features.
"Since when are you friends with him?" He asks.
"Since last night" She answers. "Now enough about him. I need to read before I have to go get ready" She was tired of talking about James. Jackson clearly was annoyed and it only made her annoyed. Jackson just nods and gets up from the couch.
"Is it okay if Lily sits with us today?" He asks. Juliette tried to stop the stir in her stomach.
"I'm sitting with James and his friends so I don't care" With that Jackson left and Juliette closed her eyes.
Lily.
Perfect fucking Lily Evans.
She hated how she despised the girl simply because she is everything that she wanted to be.

Juliette and Kayla walked to breakfast together. They walked quietly as Juliette knew that Kayla was not a morning person and didn't like to engage in conversation until at least 8 in the morning.
"Kayla" She spoke softly. The girl simply hummed.
"I'm sitting with James if that's okay" Kayla's eye widened.
"You're leaving me with the couple. Fuck no. I'm sitting there with you" Juliette giggled and nodded. They walked into the Great Hall and went directly to the infamous Marauders.
"James" Juliette quietly spoke. James smiled up at the girl.
"Good morning, Juliette. Please take a seat" He scooted over and tapped the spot next to him. She smiled gratefully and plopped down next to him.
"Hello, boys. This is Kayla" Kayla nodded and sat next to Peter and Sirius.
"So, this is new. When were you going to tell us about her, Prongs?" Sirius smirked playfully. James rolled his eyes.
"We're just friends" James spoke. Sirius seemed to not beleive him and continued smirking. Remus sat next to Juliette and scowled at the boys.
"Why didn't you wake me up?" He scolded.
"You looked so peaceful, Moony" James said.
"We didn't want to interrupt your beauty sleep" Sirius joked. Remus rolled his eyes and smiled at Juliette.
"Good morning, Juli" He greeted her while smiling.
"Why the hell does she get a nice greeting?" Sirius asked. Remus glared over at him.
"She didn't leave me in teh dorm so I could miss breakfast" She spoke through gritted teeth.
"Well, everyone's here now so it doesn't matter" James shrugged. He looked over at Juliette and smiled. She smiled back at him.
What they didn't know was a certain loud mouth Gryffindor was watching this interaction with a huge smirk.
"Well, I must excuse me and Juliette. We are going to go have a chat before classes" James states while standing up from the table. Juliette smiles at everyone before following him out of the hall.
Sirius leans over to Kayla.
"5 galleons they get together by Christmas" He says. Kayla smirks.
"By Halloween" She says as she shakes his hand.
James pulled Juliette to an empty corridor.
"When are we starting this whole relationship thing?" He asked. Juliette pondered for a second.
"We can start being more flirty and then move on from there" She suggests. James nods.
"That works" He says. "Well if I'm going to be your boyfriend soon I need to know more about you" He smirks. Juliette looks at him and smiles.
"What do you want to know?" She asks. James smirks.
"Favorite color, animal, food, and song" He states. Juliette smiles amusedly and nods.
"Maroon, butterflies, chicken alfredo, and Good Old Fashion Lover Boy by Queen" She answered. James nodded at all her answers.
"Great music taste" He comments and nudges her with his elbow. She dramatically flips her hair.
"I know. I'm the best" James laughs and playfully rolls his eyes.
Jackson and Lily walked down the hallways and both of them paused as they saw Juliette and James. They were both heavily confused. They both looked at each other shrugged and then headed on their way to class.
