Darkness surrounds a large screen, the low hum of an airship echoing in the background. A shadowy figure approaches a control panel, the sharp clacks of a keyboard breaking the silence. A large screen flickers to life, casting a cold glow over the mad scientist standing before it.

Doctor: I must say, I'm impressed by how quickly that teenager took you down. Five minutes? No, maybe even three.

Metallix:.......

Doctor: We may have lost the battle, but the data we collected is invaluable. With it, we can build you a stronger, more resilient body. Not to mention, maybe finding the key to our greater search.

The doctor smirked as the audio visualizer on the screen began to pulse.

Metallix: Are you certain this boy will be of any use to us? From what we've observed, he seems completely unaware...

The doctor remained silent for a moment, the glow of the monitor reflecting off his glasses. Then, with a low tone, he replied.

Doctor: My grandfather once wrote in his journal about an human like being capable of conducting chaos energy and using it's power. And judging by his descriptions... that boy fits the bill.

Metallix: So that would explain my body mold?

Doctor: A very plausible conclusion. Though... now that I've reviewed your scans, you do resemble more rodent than man. 'Shrugs' Oh well! No point in changing that now. Molds aren't exactly cheap, you know?

Metallix: ......When will my new body be completed?

The voice repeated, bringing an annoyed look to spread across the doctor's face

Doctor: Hmm, I don't remember you being this impatient..... But soon, Metallix. It's a slow and tedious process. Way more effort is going into it than all the other Badniks combined. It's a very tiring project I assure you.

The doctor sighed as he made his way toward the exit. Metallix gave no response. With a hiss and a metallic clunk, the door sealed shut, leaving Metallix alone in the dim glow of the screen.

Metallix: Just another reason to skin that teenager alive...

Green Hill High

We see Y/n leaning casually against the wall, arms crossed, as he chats with Danny, who finishes stuffing his things into his locker before shutting it with a soft clang.

Danny: You actually have a tutor now? I thought you were lying about that.

Y/n: I might as well, man! My grades are looking pretty bad right now.

Danny: A-Already? Dude, we're barely a month in the school year. There's no way you're flunking already....

Y/n: 'Shrugs' Hey, I'm surprised as much as you, man. I do the work, maybe skip a question or two, but I still turn it in. I guess it's just a curse.

Danny: Or maybe—just maybe, hear me out—you’re just not very smart. Simple as that.

Y/n:.... Eeeh, I still think it's a curse.

Danny: Whatever helps you cope, dude.

Y/n: You shut your face.

Y/n muttered back, earning a chuckle from his friend as they made their way down the hall, still making small talk along the way.

Y/n: Say, Danny, I always wondered... How's it feel to go ghost?

Y/n asked, watching as Danny fell into thought.
