"..."
was this even a legitimate club?
seeing as it was approved by the headmaster, it was supposed to be real, right? they cocked a brow, looking around for even hints that said there was life here. they had reached the supposed light music club room— only to find it absolutely deserted.
briar grimaced. this was an instant no from them, and they had absolutely no intention of wasting even more time. they huffed incredulously, and turned on their heel and stalked out of the room. seriously, what the hell was wrong with this college? well, at least they got that over with quickly. light music club was off the list.
they had looked at the list and immediately crossed off the equestrian club. briar was not ready to tame annoying horses and somehow wrestle them into submission again. they had had enough of horse riding, really.
they passed on home ec and cooking too. frankly, home ec sounded boring as hell and cooking was something they could already do.
football, hockey and magical wheel were also turned down. physical activities were not really their thing, so that was automatically out of the question.
and gargoyle research society? they already had someone who liked to express his undying love and interest in gargoyles every time they met.
briar paused.
'it's been a long time since i saw that person, hasn't it?'
they shook their head, a fond smile making its way on their face. they had completely forgotten that he went to this school. briar would have to hunt him down in their free time. but mysterious old friends aside— their next destination seemed to be the film studies club.
the film studies club didn't have many people, they realized, bewildered. they had peered hesitantly into the room, only to see the familiar violet of pomefiore's vests donned by a majority of the students there. they all seemed to be doing odd jobs; probably cleaning up the area and setting up props for filming. briar briefly wondered what kind of scene they were shooting.
the students seemed to be busy and really invested in the various works they'd all been assigned. a shame, really. briar never really seemed to get along well with the overly serious types. maybe this club wasn't meant for people like them either.
'i'm getting tired of all this exploring.' they thought. with the beginning of a scowl threatening to appear on their face, they stalked out of there.
two more clubs.
you can do this, briar!
so, they arrived at the science club. okay sure, maybe they had an interest in brewing potions and antidotes. and experiments were fun too, especially if someone managed to blow up the classroom.

it was full of favorable conditions, but its single drawback had managed to cancel out all of the science club's positive traits. this problem might have seemed absolutely asinine to some, and it was something others wouldn't have even regarded as a problem. but to briar, it was enough to convince them to get out of there.

the science club's advisor was professor crewel.

they were not ready to take even the smallest chance. way too many risks.

that had gotten over fast. the only club left was the board games club.

"..."

how utterly boring.

sure, they knew chess and had a bit of knowledge of a few other games that the children played back in the kingdom of heroes. but great sevens, this club sounded so bland and altogether like a pain in the neck. how much of an outcast would someone be to go around saying that 'yeah, i play century old board games!!'

hell no.

but..

their eyes flitted back down to the list they clutched in their ungloved hand. this club was their last option. if they didn't take a liking to this, they would have to join the science club; or worse, something sporty like track and field.
