You woke to the sound of shuffling next to you, glancing over to where the noise was heard, you found Frisk shuffling nervously towards you, Kin had somehow migrated towards where Frisk slept, you chuckled quietly. The noise snapping Frisk's gaze away from Kin and towards you.
They signed something slowly, but you could only understand the few letters you remembered. With the letters you had gathered, you only understood gibberish. "Sorry Frisk, I can't understand you yet, and my foggy mind isn't helping."
They pouted, huffing out air. You shrugged and stood. Grabbing your phone, unlocking it, then passing it towards Frisk. They began typing, you stretched, you let out a grunt. Frisk had stood up by now and was showing you your phone.
How long have you been taking care of them? Also. Why did they choose you to protect them? You hummed; you knew not telling them you were a mage would raise some questions. You shut your eyes in thought. What would you say instead? You felt somewhat guilty lying to Frisk, but. You couldn't say you trusted the child as much as you should, even if they knew one of your bigger secrets.
