knock knock knock

I PUT THE BOOK down that i am reading, and get up from where i am perched on my couch, hearing the sound echo throughout my apartment. i look through the peep hole and see a familiar face standing at the door, holding a beautiful bouquet of my favourite flowers, tulips.

"hi matt!" i smile as i open the door, revealing the boy standing there.

"hey ava, uh- these are for you.." he says shyly, gently pushing the flowers out to me. i grin widely as i take the bouquet of pink tulips, finding this interaction very adorable.

"i hope you like them, i asked adriana what kind you liked." adriana is my best friend of 10 years, she's a sister to me. we became friends in 6th grade, when i found her sitting alone at lunch.

"these are beautiful, thank you so much! do you want to come in?" he nods his head, and i move out of the way so he can get by. i shut the door, and tell him to take off his shoes and join me on the couch.

i find a clear vase vacant, putting some water in it, and placing the pink flowers in.

"can i ask you something?" i sit down beside him on my sofa, placing a bookmark in the book.

"oh sure.. what about?" he says softly, his gaze fixated on my dark brown eyes.

i stare at him a bit longer, trying to hold in my smile as he squirms lightly in his seat. does he think i'm going to say something bad?

"i was just wondering if you had already told chris, nick, or any of your friends about us?" i giggle a bit seeing the relief on his face.

"oh- uh well i think adriana knows because of the flowers, but i have yet to tell chris and nick, would you want to do it with all of our friends together?" he asks, sliding a bit closer to me.

"i was thinking maybe we could go on a double date with rayna and chris, and then tell nick, elijah, and makayla all together."

"what about nathan, and adriana?"

"oh yes, we can tell them with elijah and the others."

nathan and adriana are not dating, but i think she may like him. she always is acting strange around nathan and matt. well, actually mostly around.. matt. but no, she can't like matt.. she knows i've liked him for ages.

matt sees the change in my facial expressions, and looks at me confused."what's wrong?" he wonders.

"um- nothing, but i think thats a great idea." i stutter nervously. could she really like the boy that i had been dreaming of since forever? is that why she hasn't been messaging me back? because my crush asked me out? that fucking bitch.

"alright then, are you free tonight? i know rayna and chris are."

"yes i am, what time?" i see the happiness in his eyes, grinning as he checks the time right now.

"around.. 6? i'll pick you up."

"of course, i think everyone else is free so.. group sleepover at my place tonight?" i smile fondly, as he laughs a bit.

"sure, i'll help you set up after the date?" i nod in agreement, but i can't help but wonder what adriana's reaction will be, maybe i'm just overthinking everything.. but she always has been different while hanging out with matt..
