The bus came to a halt at the top of my road. I walked down the blue spotted stairs and stopped on the path outside of the bus. I walked over to my usual crossing and waited for the lollipop lady to stop the traffic. I crossed the road, thanking the lady as I walked past. I walked down the usual alleyway and crossed the road just up from my house. I clocked the amount of cars outside the house on my way in. 6. I stood and looked over them, hoping to recognise them. My whole family was here. I walked through the gate and continued up the path before my dad stood in the doorway and took my bag from me before pointing me in the direction of the patio. I walked over whilst watching my brother play football. Everyone was stood looking at me as i walked round the corner. I carried on as my Auntie ushered me onto our blue wooden bench whilst my grandparents called over my brother and ushered him to sit down too. I saw with a look of confusion over my face. My Auntie knelt in front of us whilst my Dad stood behind her, one hand on her shoulder. She took our hands in hers and rubbed her thumbs over both of them. Tears filled her eyes. The look of confusion on my face turned to small tears in my eyes as I had an idea of what had happened.
"Honey, I'm so sorry." She started, her voice breaking slightly. I looked up at everyone else as they all had the same look on their faces.
"What happened-" I asked, almost regretting the question as everyone broke down into tears.
"Mummy's gone Sweetie." My Dad says.
