"Now isn't the time Santino."

"We got a problem. I wouldn't come to you if it wasn't serious brother."

"Is it that serious that none of you could deal with it on your own?"

"Well it's just us actually because Massimo is busy and Enzo is M.I.A.-

"And by M.I.A. I'm assuming you mean he is either somewhere drunk, inside some pussy or both. And no doubt Massimo has went to retrieve your twin before he makes a bigger fool of himself sí?"

"You summed it up well enough."

"Idiota del cazzo." Fucking idiot. Finishing the last of my whiskey much too soon, I finally asked the million dollar question.
"What's the problem?"

"The Rossi made their move on Vixen."

"Let's go."

A man in my position hardly catches any breaks. As the man in charge of the Romano family aka the Italian mafia, I'm always on the move. Unlike most men, I don't get the pleasures of being a free man in this world because of the lifestyle that I've chosen. Everything is about structure, and me? I'm the leader who governs the mafia but also the foundation who holds the family together. I believe things are always done best when you do it yourself so I won't be the lazy boss who sits back and dictates to his subordinates what to do. I've always been the type that likes getting my hands dirty.

Raised as the first born in a family of six, my life had been planned out before I could crawl. Kiara Romano and Dario Romano my successful parents who we owe everything to, are the reason we are who and what we are today.

The assumptions of the mafia life is basic and common; that we are raised to be ruthless killers and follow in the path of our parents and ancestors for the sake of the family. Well, for the most part it's true.

As the eldest son—well the eldest legitimate son, that was the life chosen for me. I was the heir to a powerful empire. I was brought in this world with the weight of carrying the legacy of this family on my shoulders. Our mother despised it but the reality is, she had no real say in the matter so eventually she accepted it and adapted to the life as I grew older. She became our father's equal.

Our father, the greatest mafia leader to ever grace Italy, my predecessor, Dario Romano better known as the late and great Don Romano. As far as leaders go in this lifestyle, he was everything he needed to be and more. The man was intelligent, strategic, ruthless, and by all means unstoppable, some whispered rumors of his immortality. I suppose that's what happens when you escape death as many times as he did. Before I learned to ride a bike, I was shooting darts and soon came bullets. By the age of ten, I had my first kill, accidental of course but nonetheless, it stripped me of any innocence I had left. I had shot a worker in the head but luckily one of my mother's personal security Luca, covered up for me. For that reason, as far as my parents were concerned my first kill was at the age of 15 when I defended my mother.
