TW!!
Also this is my own work, please do not steal the idea without asking me first!
"Look at them," Valence said with a scoff. "All those people, unbothered. You're up here, in crisis, and they're down there, acting as if everything's okay... Makes you wonder if they even care..."
"No! No No No," Jean said when she saw Kit actually considering these words. "Kit. Kit, look at me." Her hazel eyes scanned his face with desperation, the tone of voice forcing Kit to look at her with his own pair of brown-ish hazel eyes.
"Listen. They do care," Jean said.
Kit glanced at Valence. Then the drop. "No. Kit, look at me," Jean chided.
Kit couldn't find his voice. He parted his lips to speak but nothing came out. He quickly closed his mouth.
"Come on. Death must be better than this, right?" Valence persuaded.
"He's just channeling his own self-hatred onto you. Don't listen to him," Jean pleaded.
"But it's true. You hate it here too, so why stay?" Valence challenged.
"You have such a bright future ahead."
"Do you though?"
The Angel and the Devil argued for a bit, and Kit rubbed his temples, trying to clear them away. Usually, just blasting his music would make them disappear for a bit. But this... this time was different.
"Look at the pretty view... Don't you want to be apart of that?" Jean asked.
"Imagine how cool it would look from heaven," Valence added.
"Please. Your life will be amazing if you just stick around a little longer to create it... You're barely nineteen."
"Would you rather die when your life is crap or be pleading with your gods to stay because you don't want to leave? Either way your end will be miserable. Why not just start it early?"
"At least you'll have good memories to keep. Just hold on a little more..."
Kit finally spoke for himself. "I've already been holding on for so long... I can't do this any longer..."
"Yes you can. Just a little more."
"You've been waiting for so long, and for what? There's nothing for you here, Kit. Just let go... It's okay."
Valence's voice was so soothing... Yet so syrupy with manipulation. Kit was conflicted, not sure what to think.
"It's not worth it, you'll see," Jean said, her voice a little broken up with emotion.
"Yes it is. You can be free."
And then something clicked in Kit's brain.
Free.
Free.
He could be free.
That's all he had wanted for as long as he could remember...
The last sensation that hit him was falling.
Down.
Down.
Down.
"Kit!"
A/N: I know this scene was a little heavy, but, well, when inspiration strikes...
Referencing the title, I got this idea from my own imagination, using inspiration from the song Achilles Come Down. That's where I got the whole idea from, and then my mind carried me the rest of the way.
Also if you haven't listened to that song, you should definitely listen to it! It's very good.
