Seungcheol was far too curious for his own good.
Too curious to be a guardian angel atleast.
Seungcheol didn't even want to be a guardian angel in the first place, but it was the only rank that allowed angels to spend long periods of time on earth.
Honestly. The whole concept of guardian angels was taken too extreme. An angel is assigned a human and watch their every move?!
Creepy
Sure, Seungcheol can justify the fact that they need to keep their assigned human alive and prevent them from committing pure evil sin.
But saving them EVERY minor inconvenience seems a bit extreme if you ask him.
Thankfully, the human Seungcheol was assigned was a very kind, sweet, and careful person. Practically sinless.
Which also kept away demons.
Demons fed on chaos, sins, and destruction. So the worse a person acts, the more attracted a demon is to that human.
So, with Seungcheols picture-perfect human, he hardly had to do any work. Instead, he spent his time exploring, and he would venture out to look at old abandoned buildings, houses, and even churches.
However, that all changed one day.
◇
Seungcheol was about to enter the mirror portal that would allow him to descend safely to the human world. Before he was stopped by a guard.
"Choi Seungcheol, the council wishes to speak to you." The guard says as Seungcheol nods, only to roll his eyes when the guard turns away to lead the way up to the council room.
Whenever an angel was requested by the council, they were either in trouble or getting a promotion to a higher rank.
And Seungcheol was definitely NOT getting a promotion.
◇
"I present, Choi Seungcheol." The guard announced as Seungcheol bowed respectfully in front of the row of older angels.
"Choi Seungcheol." One of the elder ladies announced, her voice echoing throughout the room.
"It has been brought to our attention that you have been neglecting your duties as a guardian angel." She said.
'Uh oh' Seungcheol thinks to himself, he's screwed.
"As punishment, you will be stripped of your title for 1 year and will face the chained punishment." Another angel explained.
Seungcheol really didn't know what the chained punishment meant, but it didn't sound like a fun experience.
"And you will be banished to earth to carry out your sentence. Effective immediately." A 3rd angel demanded, banging the gavel against the wooden podium.
Seungcheol quickly realized what the chained punishment was.
He felt tight, hot chains wrap around his wings, restricting them to his back, causing him to fall onto what should have been the floor.
Except, he kept falling.
