Finally done and... dusted?

Chapter - 21

Laura~

Prati is getting back on track slowly but steadily. This is what I love about her, even though when she is absolutely facing nothing but trash in her life, she is coming back like a phoenix with more determination.  I am relieved by all this. If asked about my health the case is the same as her, we both are like an inspiration to one another. 

I spot her doing something on her laptop. "What are you doing?"

"Nothing just trying to get back on work schedules. I am thinking of working from home."

"I think you should still make use of some rest. I will talk to your management."

"No way Laura. I can't take and do this anymore, I need to get back on track leaving all those Shawn and Claire matters."

"You don't want him back?"I ask.

"I am not sure, may be not. After all this, I am undergoing I need to first sit on my own and sort out my scattered feelings about him. Laura, he lied to me everyday. May be after all I was his one puppet that he had been playing with, all this while."

"I promise you I won't leave him. I am gonna smack the shit out of him after he comes back for real."

"I am also in. I want to slap him till his body goes numb, how can he even think of betraying me?"

"That is the worst."

"Yes and he just did everything like Claire said. I just know all our love was a lie, you know when I was in the hospital only tears came out of me thinking about this horrific shit still I wanted the best for him, that is to recover."

"I know- " , the bell rings.

"Oh hi, Ryan." Prati breathes.

"How are you both doing? did I miss some spicy updates?"

"No man. You are just in time." I say.

"Cool. I can already spot some delicious smell from there Laura. What's cooking?"

"Just egg toast and nuggets." I roll my eyes at the way he smacks his lips as if that is the most rarest delicious food that ever exists and existed. "Did you not eat?" I ask curious.

"No, I wanted to eat with you both and I am incredibly hungry." He growls almost supposedly in hunger and then gives a sheepish smile.

"Damn bro, you go first. Otherwise I suppose you will turn into a cannibal in no time." Prati says and we both laugh in unison. Now he rolls his eyes.

I could be with them forever. God has given me challenges that ultimately had bad outcomes but even have blessed me with these two without whom I won't even know what happiness is. However may my life be regarding love or my relationship with parents , I always wanted to be carefree like I am with them when they are near to me. I am honored to have them as my friends rather best buddies. 

He devours the toast in no time. "Thank you Laura he utters still chewing remnants of the toast and the nuggets."

"No need." I beam and roll my eyes.

"Hey, lets go out for some fun!" Ryan exclaims.

"Yeah we could use that." I look at an immersed Pratiksha on her laptop.

"Damn bro, take a break." Ryan puts her laptop away.

"Hey! why did you do that? I was collecting and assembling scoop you know?"She yells.
