Chapter 9 : The War

Helix POV

Unknown Regions – Aboard the Traveler (the name they gave their ship)

As I Look through the reports of the last 48 hours I scoff. 'Of course, a war broke loose...'. I thought.

Due to the news, we had to postpone our trip a bit and had to stop. We decided to head for Takodana, from there we could get a signal from the Republic that way we get some more clarity.

After what seems like hours we arrive at Takodana and land in the forest. I head to Vaylin's room to tell her I am going outside for fresh air when she only acknowledges me.

Ever since we had to make this detour she has been angry at me. For putting this war above our plans... more like her plans. She has an agenda if her own I think. There is more to it then only visiting here home world.

As I sit outside I decide to meditate. 'focus on the living force, on the cosmic balance.' I think repeating the line my master taught me.

Vaylin POV

Helix just left the ship. The hypocrite he always said he doesn't do these politics... look now...

I don't blame him for wanting to know more about this war. But we had a deal.

'you can always betrayal him...' I think. 'No... he sacrificed a lot for me...'

My line of thoughts get interrupted when I hear a blastershots outside. "Great what trouble has he gotten himself into now!" I think aloud grabbing my lightsaber.

As I run off the ramp of the ship I see Helix deflecting blaster bolts from a band of smugglers. When I ignite my saber they start shooting me as well. I deflect the shots back at them and together me and Helix make short work of them.

"What was that?" I ask with a bit to much anger. "I don't know they came out of nowhere!" he defends himself. "Did you at least get contact with the Republic?" I ask annoyed. "About that I decided to meditate first..." he says leaving me trying my hardest to control my anger. "I am having a lot of restraint for you now. You keep testing me but I swear to the force. Don't push further." I say turning around walking back in the ship. I hear him sigh as I go back in.

Helix POV

As I get off the comms with the council I head back to inform Vaylin about what all happened. When I get to her door I feel her anger radiating from her.

"The door is unlocked" I hear a scaringly calm Vaylin speak through the door. As I walk in I see her sitting on her bed, she stares at me with her Sith eyes clearly waiting on what I have to say.

"So, remember that name that one pirate gave us? Dooku." I say when she nods. "Wel he is a Sith, started a political movement and has declared war to the Republic to which the jedi are supposed to be generals in leading army's of clones." I summarize.

"And what are you going to do?" She asks me.

"I am going to Zakuul with you. I am not staying for a war." I answer when I feel her become more calm and less angry.

"Thank you..." she says. I nod and leave the room.

As I head back to the cockpit I take off and continue our trip towards Zakuul.
