It's been a really long time since I wrote last.
Let's start with a bit of an update of my life.
I turned eighteen, finally flew abroad, got a job, hmm... anything else?
Okay let's start with the fact that I turned 18 because I don't know if this has registered in my mind yet.
I'm an adult. Okay that's kinda funny. Adult is stretching it a bit too far but ye...
I got a new notebook (actual notebook). I pretty much just write schedules and poems in there. I'm not even sure what else. Some doodles...
Ye, it's sort of like a journal but not. I don't know how to explain it but I like it.Let's go into a bit more detail about me flying abroad.
We left on August 13th. It was about a 10 hour flight. I sat between one really old man and between a boy that I think was 13 or 14. The flight was pretty uneventful. Okay-ish food, 2 movies, journaling, and drawing. That's pretty much all it included. We arrived 11 am the next morning and waited at the airport for about 3 hours to get a car that we pre-ordered but never showed up. So yeah, my mom called a relative to come pick us up. We went to their apartment to eat normal food. The weather was about 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Needless to say, we needed showers and not just because of the plane. After we ate we went to check out our rooms for the night. That city wasn't exactly pretty. Umm... it was kinda dirty, bad driving... I don't really know what else.
It was an extremely religious neighborhood and my sister didn't exactly dress appropriately for that place. Someone yelled at us. I think. I don't know. I don't speak that language to be honest.
My sisters took naps because they were jet lagged. I decided to go visit my great grandparents graves for the first time. Main reason is because, why not? Another reason is that I once heard the best way to cure jet laggedness is to stay awake as long as possible.
We stopped by a market on the way to the graves to buy some candles (it's a tradition to light candles for the deceased). I got to "meet" my great grandmother and great grandfather for the first time. And a few other relatives.
On the way back (about 6:30ish) I fell asleep in the car. We arrived back at the apartment at about 7 and I slept for an hour before getting ready for dinner. We went to a restaurant with a lot of cousins that I didn't even know existed. And once again I do not speak the same language as them. Let's just say, it was one awkward dinner for me. I texted a friend of mine because I couldn't call (25 cents per min). The restaurants over there were really different. They actually over-fill the plates. Like piled up food. It was pretty good.
We returned to our part ent at about 11. I took a shower (no I did not take one before. And don't ask me why cuz I know It was overdue). The showers, I don't even know how to explain it right. I don't think you can picture how weird/funny it is without seeing it. It was pretty much just a 2 by 2 room. There was a toilet on one wall. A window across from it (higher up). On the same wall of the window there was a shower head. That's all there was in that room. Oh, and a drain on the floor of course.
That was an interesting experience. I'm sort of glad I took a part in it. Yet also happy that I don't have to do that again. (Am I a privileged little brat? Maybe.)
I slept about 5 hours before waking up. We ate breakfast at a cousins house (one I actually know). And then we had about a 3 hour drive to the next location. Also, my favorite location in that country.Okay I was writing for quite a while now. Sorry for the abrupt ending but I'll have to continue a different time.
