Magnus is a university student from London, and he got invited to his friend Ragnors place for the last bit of summer holidays. Magnus had a great time up in England borders, but as he was not too far from the highland, he decided to go to Highland by himself for the last few days of his summer vacation. He is going to be a last year university student once the summer vacation finishes, and he wants to explore the UK as much as possible before he gets bombarded with assignments and exams.

His trip to Highlands was great. He spent a few days in Edinburgh, and he was fascinated by the architecture, friendly people, and of course, bagpipe music. He also didn't forget to take full advantage of the fact that he can have drinks even if he is not 21 yet. He explored great pubs and enjoyed Sunday roast. He actually liked the taste of haggis, and of course, he enjoyed the burn of whisky. Of course, he also flirted with few Scottish lads and lasses in Edinburgh before he went to Glasgow. In Glasgow, he went on shopping, and he may have gone a little bit overboard, but aha, well, not that he mind.

After a couple of days in Glasgow, he took the train to Inverness. He was so excited to see the highland cows, see Loch Ness, and many more. His trip to Inverness took his breath away. The beauty of nature was just too overwhelming for his poetic heart. How blue and clear all the water streams looked, or how green and fresh all the trees look, or how the tip of mountains was covered by snow white clouds, or how the mountains on both side of roads seems to go on forever or how the sunset would paint the whole sky in red, pink and orange.

Magnus got absorbed by the beauty of Scotland so much so that he decided he wanted to spend one more extra day and also, it has been raining the whole day and he just didnt feel like going back to the train station from his hotel when the weather seemed too gloomy. So, he made the decision to reschedule his train to the next day and it did not take him longer to realise he made a very bad decision.

"Magnus, there are amber warnings! Leave Inverness now while you can." Ragnor warned.

"Oh, calm down my grumpy green cabbage. It is Scotland, of course it's going to rain. It has been the whole time I was here."

"Magnus, there are drizzling, and there are amber warnings! You are going to be stuck in Highlands in. You dont leave now. At least come and stay in Edinburgh, and worse, come to the worst. we can come and pick you up."

"Thank you for worrying about me, but I will be alright. I already told Papa and Mama, so they sent me some extra money. I should be okay."

"You spoiled brat." Ragnor huffed.

"Do whatever you want. Do not call me and complain when you can not get out of Highlands."

"I will be alright, Ragnor. I am planning to explore the town today. Let me know if you have any recommendations."

"Do whatever you want, I dont give a shit, and I dont have any recommendations. Talk to you later."

"Oh, so soon? Okay, my grumpy cabbage. Talk to you later. Love you." Magnus knows that Ragnor hates nicknames, and he is very weirded out when Magnus says I love you but that's what best friends supposed to do. Right? Magnus grinned when he realized that Ragnor had already hung up on.

Magnus looked out from the window, and the sky seemed so dark and heavy.

"It will pass." Magnus told himself before putting his thick jacket on.

He had a great time in the town, and he made sure to explore the museum, charity shops, vintage shops, book shops, restaurants, the river, and then, of course, the castle. Magnus was obsessed with Castles in Scotland, and he felt like he could go back in time when he was inside the castles. The coldness of the bricks and stones, the roughness of the architecture, but still how the drawings looked like it will come to life if you stare at it long enough. Magnus was obsessed with Scottish heritage, and rightfully so.
