GameToons AU: Novisor's New Host (WIP)

Darkness

Half of the crew was left on the Skeld. Already, the crewmates were wondering if they had a chance at winning.

Player was hurrying through wires, turning around every couple of seconds to make sure no one was sneaking up on him. Or trying to talk to him...

"Player?"

Player jumped and whipped around. It was just Captain. He sighed in relief.

"Hi, Captain."

"You alright? You seem more on edge today."

"No, no...I'm fine," Player insisted.

Captain didn't seem to buy it. "Well...a-alright. But-"

The lights went out. Player now looked panicked.

"COME ON CAPTAIN! WE GOTTA TURN THEM BACK ON!!"

"Wha- HEY, WAIT UP!"

As Player ran to Electrical, Captain's thoughts shifted to concern: 'Why was he acting like this? I mean, sure, he's a little afraid of the dark in-game now, but...'

The others had made it into Electrical too, but nothing was happening. In truth, Mr. Egg was throwing. "Come on Cheese, do something..." he muttered under his breath.

Captain and Player got into the crowd and attempted to fix the lights, but to no avail. Suddenly Player pulled back. "Player?" Captain asked, worried.

The voices. They were coming back. Every single time...

Captain tried gently shoving Player, but nothing happened. He did it a little more. However, the only thing Player could hear was the chants of the dark. Not like anyone else would know, anyway. "Okay buddy, COME ON-" Captain thrusted his body weight onto Player's back. The noise that resulted made some people, including Mr. Egg, to turn and see what the commotion was.

When the light came on, everyone was staring at the small black puddle on the floor. "Eh...clean up on aisle 5?" Captain asked, hoping to lighten the mood. Player only grunted and left Electrical.

This wasn't the first time Novisor had annoyed him.
