Mira HQ. The offices rose above the skies like a grandiose first-class airliner. For many of the crewmates this above view was both a sense of wonder and comfort, offered only on the walkway between the launchpad and the rest of the hallways. Some would lean up against the glass-paneled barrier to look out at the clouds. Some did this with fear, others without. Being up in space and cooped up in ships made Mira feel like a haven.
This feeling was especially true for Player. Once again, he needed to take his mind off of everything. Currently, his hands were rested on the rail of the walkway barrier, and he had been staring at the sun's warm morning light for the past 15 minutes. His thoughts were finally interrupted by Gnome screaming something.
"HEY, GUYS!!" shouted Gnome. "CHECK OUT THIS COOL MIRROR I FOUND!!"
Mirror? Player sighed and walked off the platform to the left, heading to the launchpad. There, everyone else in HQ was gathered around something. Besides Gnome, there was also Dum, BDay and Stoner from the last game. The new faces were Mother, Baggy and Wizard. They were all crowded around a large rectangular mirror with simple gold framing. Three lit candles were placed next to the mirror - one on the left of it, two on the right, one larger than the other. The flames gently waved in the minimal breeze that came from the outside.
"Gnome... would you care to explain what this is?" Player asked, confused.
"It's just a mirror, Player!" she responded, "I just found it sitting here."
"I've never seen a mirror like THIS...," Wizard mused.
"It's pretty spooky... and ominous..." muttered Baggy.
Suddenly, Gnome screamed "BLOODY MARY BLOODY MARY BLOODY MARY!!!" and ran off.
"Wait a minute-" Wizard mumbled.
The rest of the group ran after Gnome, not knowing what had just happened... but knowing the context behind those words all too well.
"Ohhh, what if the Bloody Mary myth is real...?" Baggy asked with a worried tone.
"Don't worry Baggy," Mother assured him, "none of that stuff is real. ... And even in the case that it IS, we're all here to support each other."
"I-I guess you're right..."
"In that case we better do our tasks before any spooky stuff happens!" BDay declared.
The rest of the group agreed, and they split up to find their tasks. Player approached BDay.
"So where's your first task?" he asked.
"Admin, I uh... think... Oh yeah, I was right! Come on Player!" BDay started toward Admin, not waiting for Player. He followed.
Multiple people were in Admin, Player guessed, in order to do their ID card check-in. Baggy was there, and so was Dum. Dum moved away just then as the faint sound of the keypad had verified her ID. Baggy was still trying to enter his, holding up his card close to his visor.
"Zero... One.. Five...?" Baggy read out uncertainly.
Player moved in along with BDay to enter his code. But all the time he did so, he could've sworn he felt a cold wind breeze past him. He looked back more than a couple times only to see no one there. 2 minutes later he finished the task.
"Alright, done," Player declared to no one in particular. "What about you BDay?"
"Yeah, I'm just about... Aha! There we are!" BDay responded. "Alrighty! Next task!"
BDay and Player walked together to the locker room. Once again, a chill passed through Player's spine, even though no wind could enter. This kept him on edge the entire walk. Finally, they entered the locker room. The room looked normal, but immediately Player noticed that there was another mirror by the decontamination door. A mirror that looked EXACTLY like the mirror in the launchpad. Even the candles were the exact same, and it creeped Player out a bit. However, BDay just walked right past it and pressed the button to open the door. As the door opened with a shinking sound, BDay looked back at Player. It was then he noticed the other mirror.
"Did the mirror, ah... what, clone itself or somethin'?" BDay asked.
Silence. Player walked into the decontamination room and waited for BDay. "Let's just go," he replied.
BDay walked in after him as the door closed shut. The cleaning mists started up and lightly sprayed the two.
"Why would there be two mirrors...?" Player wondered aloud. "And- what does that mean?"
"I have no clue," BDay responded.
The doors opened, and BDay walked out instinctively. Through the opening Player could see yet ANOTHER mirror, appearing the exact same as the other two, sitting in the hall closer to Laboratory's entrance. Candles, and all. Player backed up two steps. BDay looked at him, confused, but the door closed once more before he could say anything. So, Player was alone.
He felt a presence behind him. Oh. Of course. It must be Novisor.
Feeling confident in this idea, Player turned around, expecting to get a lecture from the guy about why Player wasn't doing anything "productive", but before he could think about what that would be like, he froze out of pure shock.
What was in front of him was NOT Novisor. No, this was an entity much more... detailed. It was a floating woman with very pale skin and long, surprisingly clear black hair that turned gray at the jagged ends. Her hair covered her eyes, if she had any, blood dripping down from her forehead all the way down to her chin. Similarly to Novisor, a toothy smile ran across her face, being the only facial feature visible. Her fingers were blood-stained claws, and her gray attire had a torn collar. The "shirt" or "dress" never had an end, really - it continued down and faded all the way to her ghostly tail. The woman's most interesting feature was the numerous glass shards that poked out of her hair, some small, some large. One even could be mistaken for a type of unicorn horn based on its position and shape.
Player screamed before he could stop himself. "Wh-Who are you?!" he shouted up at the woman.
"... Bloody... Mary..." she responded, her voice like a sharp whisper.
