Chapter 9

"Wow, I never thought I'd see this" eda heard raine say softly, a soft laugh came along with it.
She opened her eyes tiredly. The sun was high in the sky- it was probably around 12 in the afternoon.
What...?" She yawned.
"You and Darius" raine said, now kneeling down in front of her.
"What about me and him?" Eda asked.
"Nothing bad, I just thought it was sweet that you two had such a strong bond." Raine said.
She looked down at where Darius was quietly sleeping on the grass.
"Even if he was supposed to be on guard duty.." Raine mumbled.
"Well...is he gonna be punished?" Eda asked.
"Why do you ask?"
"Well..." Eda then whispered something in Raine's ear. "Do you think you could do that?"
"Eda that's just petty....I'd love to" raine said slyly.
Eda smiled. Just then Darius woke up.
"Uhhhhhhh....am I in trouble?" He asked sheepishly.
"Not until I get your punishment sorted." Raine said. "Now, eda come with me, I think we still have work to do involving the wedding"
"Right." Eda said, raine helping her up.
Raine lead her to their office, just down the hall from the dining room.
"That's an odd place to have your office..." She mumbled.
"It may be odd, but you get food quicker." Raine said, defensively.
"Speaking of food..." Eda said.
"I already had Charlotte bring up some food." Raine said
"What kind of food?"
"Charlotte went to your sister, she said you love these chocolate cupcakes, that are also vanilla...I dont understand what she was going on about to be honest..." Raine sighed.
"Do you mean chocolate and vanilla cupcake swirls?" Eda asked.
(For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, they're basically two flavoured cupcakes, idk if people know them as something else tho)
"I think so?" They said, rubbing the back of their neck.
Eda smiled happily. "I love those!"
"That's probably why your sister said those are a must." Raine smiled
Eda gasped. "Can we have them at the wedding?"
"I figured you'd say that, and yes we can" raine said, making eda smile wider.
When they walked into Raine's office, they found a tray of edas favorite desert on the table. Eda smiled and grabbed one. Raine chuckled softly and eda sat down and started eating.
"They're quite big" raine said, surprised at their size.
"Well they have two different flavours, and vanilla cooks quicker so you have to use more of it, which makes the cupcake already quite full, but then you also have to add the same amount of chocolate- or whatever two flavours you're using. I promise you, one will take longer to cook than the other." Eda explained, while eating. (Idk if that's true or not just guessing)
"You know a lot." Raine pointed out.
"Yeah, me and my sister used to always experiment with the cupcakes. Also gay boy helped as well." Eda said, taking another cupcake.
Raine chuckled, taking a cupcake from the tray. They took a bite and was mildly surprised at how the cupcake tasted.
"They're good aren't they?" Eda said
"Definitely" raine agreed. "Have you decided who you want at the wedding?"
"My sister for sure...but I'm not sure who else.." Eda said. "Darius I guess. What about you?"
"Well my sister, my aunt..and maybe my dad." Raine said distractedly.
"What about your mum?" Eda asked.
"My mother doesn't believe trans, non binaries exist...she refuses to believe that her kid could be one of those... So both Bella and I cut contact from her as soon as we left home..." Raine explained. "That and she's a homophobic bitch, and both me and Bella aren't exactly straight."
"I'm sorry about your mother" eda mumbled.
"Yeah well my mother is especially pissed at Bella, that girl that she likes..she's a trans demi girl" raine said. "She grounded Bella for a month because of it."
"How did Bella react?" Eda asked.
"She full on kissed azora in front of her" raine smirked. "Only time I wasn't pissed she kissed someone."
Eda burst out laughing. "Damn that girl is something"
"She really is" raine smiled. "One of the best things 'bout her"
"So back to the wedding..." Eda said, eating another cupcake.
"How many of those are you going to eat...?" Raine asked.
"As many as I like" eda said. "Besides I'm hungry"
"Okay...is there a kind of theme you want for the wedding?" Raine asked
"Weddings have themes?" Eda said.
"Apparently." Raine said, leaning back in their chair.
"Huh..." Eda mumbled. "I really have no idea how weddings work..." (that's a true fact about me. And because of that...)
After sorting out the specifics of the wedding:
"Damn that took forever" eda yawned.
"Yeah" raine agreed, stretching their arms.
"Well, at least its done" eda sighed
"Mhm" raine got up. "Let's go, dinner's probably ready."
"Okay" eda yawned, getting up.
Just like raine had said, there was a decent amount of food on the table.
Food like a roast chicken, pies, fruit salad, sandwiches, and roasted veggies. (Don't ask, just using food I eat)
Suddenly Darius came in with Lilith.
"Let go of me! I'm capable of walking!" She shouted.
"What's Lilith doing here?" Eda asked.
"Wow, what an amazing way to treat your sister edalyn." Lilith said.
Eda rolled her eyes. She was really fed up with Lilith's bullshit lately.
"Lilith, it was just a question!" She sighed.
Lilith just glared at her.
"Well, I thought maybe you two would like to talk to each other...but it looks like I was most definitely wrong.." Raine mumbled.
"Its not that, its just usual sister banter coming from us two" eda said reassuringly. Darius nodded in agreement.
"Now," eda said, taking Lilith's hand and walking to the table. "Sit"
Lilith sighed, but did what she was told.
"You're excused Darius" raine said, walking over to Eda, who just sat down.
Darius turned and left. Eda had sat next to her sister so Raine sat on her other side. Charlotte came in and started serving the food.
"Charlotte, did you make the cupcakes raine and I ate earlier?" Eda asked.
"I did" she said proudly. "Where they to your liking, dear?"
"Yes! I loved them!" Eda smiled.
Charlotte smiled. "I'm glad, I didn't really know what I was doing.."
"What are you talking about?" Lilith asked.
"Who might you be, sweetie?" Charlotte asked Lilith.
"Lilith, edalyn's older sister." Lilith answered.
"Well its nice to meet you, dear" Charlotte said, making Lilith look surprised at how nice she was.
"Uh...you too" she mumbled, looking like she was at a loss for words.
Charlotte set a plate in front of the three of them. "I hope you like it sweetie, I know your sister does." The old lady said softly.
"Like it!? This is all edalyns and i's favorite foods!" Lilith exclaimed.
"I wonder why raine chose it then" they woman glanced at a smug looking raine. "Now I've got to do maid stuff- eda ive got an outfit picked out for you tomorrow if you'd like to wear it" the woman said before leaving.
"Thank you Charlotte!" Eda said loud enough for the woman to hear.
Soon they all started eating. At first it was all quiet and awkward. But eventually, Lilith started a conversation. Mostly she was just embarrassing eda.
"Lilith I will kill you!" Eda warned.
"Oh I'm so scared." Lilith said sarcastically, rolling her eyes.
Eda glared at her. And that's how dinner went. It truly was chaotic.
And eda wouldn't have traded it for the world.
