Another boring Sunday in which the only light that I knew at the moment was Stay.
The weekly lives had become hard to keep up with as Stray Kids were preparing a new album, and the preparations were not easier than last time.
I make my way to my studio and set up the stream. The soft hum of the equipment fills the room as I prepare. The sofa was still standing behind me as usual. I missed the lives I used to have with 3racha, it was so lonely in here.
I turn on the live stream and hide in the corner, not showing myself in frame.
I glance at the screen and notice an extreme number of people joining in, more than last time. It's always heartening to see the support from Stay; it feels like I'm truly talking to mates rather than just fans.
"Hi Stay, how are you guys?" I begin, a genuine smile on my face, popping into frame. The comments flood in, as usual, a lively mix of greetings and enthusiasm.
"I see a lot of you are doing well, and for those who aren't, you can always talk to me," I say sincerely, my connection with Stay going beyond the stage. It's a bond that has helped me through a lot, and I want to reciprocate the support.
The stream continues as usual, and I react to a few songs. The chat buzzes with excitement. Amidst the sea of comments, one catches my eye.
A user with the name 'The Moustache You Wish To Grow' leaves a simple comment:
"When are you coming home?" It strikes an oddly familiar chord, reminiscent of a girl from school in Australia, y/n. Could it be her? I shake off the thought; it might just be a coincidence.
Most of my friends back in school were aware of my journey to Korea, though many doubted I'd make it. The comment resonates; it's been a long time since I was home. I realised I had completely zoned out and snapped out of my thoughts, continuing to read comments.
But she doesn't write again.
