William had never been a fan of technology. It wasn't necessary in his life, for he wasn't a German reaper who needed a camera to reap souls. He had his own death scythe that acted just fine.
Ronald, however, thought differently. He knew William felt left out sometimes, so a cell phone would be perfect for keeping in touch with his fellow reapers.
"I don't know how to operate it, Ronald. I don't need it," He said, handing the junior officer the device. "It's useless. My legs and voice work. I don't need my mind to be sucked into some false world."
"William, ya have t'! You need it t' communicate and keep in touch!" Ronald wouldn't take the telephone back from his supervisor no matter how much he tried. He needed it and there was no convincing Ronald different.
"Honestly.." He shook his head and sighed.
When William had gotten a few people's numbers from Ronald, he decided he should 'shoot a text' to a couple of them.
"Will, text Alan! He's just gettin' a phone, too! Learn with him!"
He sighed again, obviously annoyed and irritated.
"I guess so."
//William: Alan.
Alan: Who is this?
William: William T. Spears
Alan: How did you get my #?
William: Ronald
Alan: Oh//
William decided not to answer him. Their conversation wasn't going anywhere.
"Ooh, ooh! Text me!" Ronald exclaimed.
//William: You're cute, standing over there like that.
William: Hello?
William: Ronald?
William: Stop ignoring me.//
"Will, stop texting me so much! I've responded each time!"
"No, you are not."
"Yes, I am!"
"Ronald Knox, this device is useless. It won't show me what you've sent. I obviously don't need it."
"Will, turn it off and back on. That normally helps, alright?"
"How do you do that?"
Ronald sighed. William was right; he probably didn't need it. This was going to be a long night.
