After coming to the realization that I was now in the world of One Piece and eaten a devil fruit on top of that. I knew I would need to be better than I was.

I had remembered crying my eyes out when Ace died. Or even what happened with the Merry for that matter! I still didn't understand why the names of two so to be wanted pirates were now tattooed to the inside of my wrist.

But...

It had to be the devil fruit I ate.

Because, now that I was checking myself over, I noticed an achy feeling coming from my eyes when looking at bright light, and I was starting to feel odd as I sat in this tree catching breath and watching the boar below me. It had been a good idea to climb the tree, because it showed just how far I had strayed from the path.

If I didn't head home soon, not only would mother be worried but I would be dealing with the forest in the dark. That was not good. Thankfully, it didn't take too long for the boar to lose interest in me and wonder away, but by then it was turning to late afternoon/evening time. Soon the sun would began to set into the ocean, and I would be looked at the new night before me.

After getting the direction I needed to head in mind, so that I wouldn't get lost further in the forest then necessary. I made my descent into the forest and towards home.

.

By the time I was in familiar territory, it had reached early evening, and the sun had set passed the trees of the forest. I had noticed however, that I could still see perfectly fine, even though I knew it was getting darker.

The colors of the forest around me were slowing changing to deeper, darker colors but still very visible in definition. By the time I got home, it had reached night, and it had became glaringly obviously that it was a form of night-vision, and that I would need to check the Encyclopedia of Devil Fruits as soon as possible.

As I walked along the dirt path to my house , I saw bright lights up ahead. As I squinted up ahead, I saw people running back and forth in panic. Picking up the pace, I jogged down the path until I reached the panicked people... that were rushing... to .. put out raging fire.. destroying my home.

I blinked once, twice before I started to really process what was happening in front of me.

MOM!

No! Where was my mother? She hadn't been inside right? Oh No!

The thoughts raced through my mind, as I began to search the peoples faces around me as quickly as possible.

She wasn't here!

NO!!

In a slight panic, I ran as close as I dared to the fiery house and continued to look wildly all around me for someone familiar to me. Then, something caught my eye.

There!

There sat my mother, a blanket wrapped around her shoulders and crying her eyes out with our closest neighbors (an elderly husband and wife). "MOM!!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs and rushed to her.

My mother's head snapped up and stared at me with a slack-jawed expression. Then, she burst into another round of tears and rushed towards me. We meet with a fierce hug, as we clung to each other.

"Where were you? I had just come work, the house was already on fire. I thought you were in there!" my mother started with.

"I'm sorry! I just got back from the forest, I got chased by a boar and kind of lost my way for a little bit," my mother started to look worried before I continued with, "but I am completely fine. Not even a scratch."

"Thank the Gods!" She squeezed me even tighter, before leaning close to my ear and whispering, "I think I know who caused this. That bandit I've been having problems with at work asked me to marry him again, and he was officially banded from the property after becoming so angry." She sighed, and apologized for that random creep that not only couldn't take a hint, and was also violent.

I rolled my eyes, and gripped her hand harder. "He is the problem, not you. He is the one that couldn't take no for an answer, you will find your true love." As I said those lost words, my mother yelped in pain and jerked her hand from mine to find writing now on her right wrist.

My eyes widened, and before she could begin to ask what it was all about. I slammed my hand to her mouth and shook my head before looking around. She nodded, and I asked to see her arm.

Dracule Mihawk

Portgas D. Shanks

My eyes widened even larger, if that was even possible. She also had pirate's name tattooed on her wrist, taking that into account I tried to connect the dots in front of me.

|A.N.|

Sorry this took so long. I invented the devil fruit Mila ate, and was having problems figuring out how she would/could find the knowledge about her fruit.

I'm a progressively lazy person, and updates will be more based on when I have the whim to write on this story. It isn't by any means to say that I won't complete this, just that it will be slow.
