In the days that followed, Belly and Conrad spent their time at the lighthouse, sifting through the letters, reminiscing about the past, and slowly mending the rift that had kept them apart. They began to understand that their fear of losing each other had, in fact, been what had driven them apart.
One evening, under the dim glow of the lighthouse's restored beacon, Conrad turned to Belly. "We can't change the past, but we can shape our future. Let's not let fear dictate our choices anymore."
Belly smiled, her heart full of hope. "Let's start over, Conrad. Let's be more than friends. Let's be everything to each other."
